Food was awesome and the price is great for the portion sizes, I want a meal be that'll fill me up and that's what I got.. the breakfast here left me taking leftovers home never has that happened in other country kitchen type restaurants. The chicken fried steak and eggs were amazing, the breading on the steak practically stayed crunchy till the last bite, and all of it stayed on the chicken fried steak as opposed to falling off after initially cutting into for the first bite at most places, The eggs tasted fluffy and buttery like the way my mom taught me how to make them.
you can tell the biscuits and the gravy were pre-made biscuits that are warm and serve but they were still good the gravy is obviously a package mix and isn't made using a roux it takes too much time and kitchens like these don't have time to make big volumes of gravy from scratch so those two things are understandable.
All in all for the first time there the food was amazing as a chef I give it 5 out of 5 stars and I will be going back for the food, unfortunately I only give four stars for the restaurant itself though because the service wasn't 100% our waitress wasn't very attentive to our drinks and other needs it didn't seem like she had very many tables as someone who has also worked as wait staff for the time that it was and for how slow it was, there should have been no reason for our waitress not to be attentive to the 3 tables that she had. As another side note for there being as many waitresses as there were that noticed us actively looking for our waitress, those that were doing nothing did not come to ask if we needed anything nor if they could help our server (their coworker) if she was being overwhelmed not the definition or epitome of teamwork in the food...
Read moreIf there is one thing I hate, it's finding an amazing restaurant that's too far away to come back to. Not gonna lie, I wasn't expecting much, but this place was delish and at a great value for how much and how good it was. My family mostly ordered breakfast foods, son got burger and fries. I stole a few fries and they had that homemade taste that is ten notches above most other places and something you can usually only get if you make them yourself. Pancakes looked like they would be on the flat side, but were still soft and fluffy in texture. If you like the hash browns from Waffle House, you'll like the hash browns here. Maybe even more. I think I was most impressed with their meats. I usually don't like the ham at most breakfasts places because they give you something that makes me think I'm eating salty rubber, but this ham not only had real ham flavor, but also real ham texture! Miracle! The bacon was thick and fried to perfection, and my husband compared his ham steak to Babes (chicken house), different, but just as good. I had a bite of my daughters omelette that had all the right fillings, such as fully cooked and crunchy bacon and mushrooms. Their sweets (such as the cinnamon apple topping for your pancakes or their cobbler) were the perfect amount of sweet, enough to be a dessert, but not so much that you feel like your going to go into a coma. EXCEPT their brownie and ice cream dessert. You could probably get diabetes just from smelling that delicious stuff. If you love chocolate brownies, it's the one for you. Overall really amazing little hidden treasure. Please build one...

I know most small town restaurants that are not part of a major chain have a more laid back attitude about them but this place did not seem very inviting. It took me at least 3-4 minutes to even be acknowledged and once I got seated it took another 5 minutes to get a glass of water and a menu. My waitress was nice but all of the servers seemed more interested in attending to the law enforcement officers there instead of the regular patrons. The salad I got was sub par and the dressing was not very tasty. It was put together haphazardly and the balsamic vinaigrette I ordered seemed outdated. The chicken breast meal I ordered was ok. The chicken was good but the fries and cooked apples were just filling not really satisfying. I decided to see if the skillet cobbler was going to be a good dessert choice but with the skillet being super hot and the ice cream not melting fast enough I had to wait another 5 minutes for it too cool down enough before it could be consumed. The most annoying part was after all of that time waiting to get seated and order food I felt like I was being rushed to get out of there. Every 30 seconds it seemed like my waitress kept asking me if I was ready for my dessert, but failed to clear any plates off of the table, give me a straw, or provide any extra napkins without me asking. I have never been so ready to leave a restaurant and get back to the comfort of my hotel room. It wasn't the worst experience I've had but I am in no rush to ever...
