I love going to establishments that look like the photos. This beauty supply was introduced to me by NinaTheEmcee over the weekend via IG live; she mentioned their wigs were 50% off, so I had my chauffeur drive me to Arlington to see what it was about. Glad I did! The lot was full, great location (right off the freeway), and had accessible parking. We were greeted with smiles and welcomed with a full store of beautiful and unique inventory ranging from kid toys, purse accessories, hair care, salon chairs, vanities, and more. Every edge of the store was clean and well light, confirming that my safety was not in question. I say that because most beauty supply stores are smelly, old, and dusty.
My favorite part was the wigs, of course! There were more than ten aisles of wig units surrounded by the u-shaped luxury wig wall sectioned off for the staff to pull. I believe this section was created with us in mind. There were styling stations in the middle and attendants ready to pull any wig we wanted to try on, and we didn’t have to pay for stocking caps!!! I tried on a few and fell in love with this raw, wavy full lace wig. Bold of me because I’m a closure babe all day, but my babe like it, so we were told our unit would be wrapped and waiting for us at the register. The unit was $650 MSRP. I got it on sale for $325, leaving room for other miscellaneous items I needed. They offer an awards program; we signed up for it and left. I wanted to call out Elaine and Destiny. Both ladies were helpful, honest, and attentive. I appreciate passionate women who show up in the workforce daily because they believe in what they do. Working retail is challenging, but women like them are the heart and soul of successful businesses. The owner- thank you for your vision and time to give us what we need! I will be back to support you!! My wig is...
Read moreI’ve been shopping at this location for over 3 years and I’ve always been in awe by the selection. I usually run in and run out without speaking to anyone outside of “hi, thank you and bye.” Regardless, the staff is always kind alert. They always greet each guest and never miss a beat. Even when a guest probably looks like they’re having a tough day they’re sure to say hello, ask if you need help and wish you a good day.
Yesterday I went to make a purchase and an employee named Lala was incredible. Not only did she take time to ask me pertinent questions, and educate me on the product, but she was also helping multiple guests at once while making us all feel like we had her undivided attention. Lala was so patient as I had trouble making a decision and was taking pictures and FaceTiming my friend for additional opinions. At no point did she make me feel rushed or like I was wasting her time—in fact SHE apologized to me at one point because she was also helping other people. During my time at the store, I observed Lala recognize and become elated to see and serve clients she hadn’t seen in a couple months, people who clearly seemed to be regulars, and also first time shoppers. She treated them all the same. With such kindness, patience and care like they were family/besties.
All of this to say, Lala, thank you for being a light. Something about our interaction and conversation inspired me and left me feeling compelled to share my experience. Thank you also to Lala’s manager (sorry I didn’t get your name!) for your assistance yesterday. You all were...
Read moreI HIGHLY dislike going into any kind of store with the intention of spending my hard earned money on their products; only to not be acknowledged or offered any help!! And not to make it a race “thing” but you would think that a store that is operated by and employ mostly people of color would especially try not to treat their own kind in an unprofessional distasteful manner and YET that is the treatment I received when I went inside the store. I was in there for about 15 minutes and I passed several workers who were too busy conversing amongst themselves to even take five seconds to stop and ask if I needed help or if I was looking for anything in particular, etc., etc. Not to mention towards the back of the store near the section where the wigs are kept, there was a heavy aroma of marijuana! On my way out I finally had a worker asked me if I needed help and I just replied no thanks and kept walking! Oh NOW Someone finally decides to offer assistance?!?! 🙄😏 And “yall” have the nerve to wonder why yalls businesses cant and/dont thrive as well as others…MAYBE TRY PERFECTING YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS a bit...
