Oh my God, this is the most underwhelming “resort” I’ve ever stayed at in my entire life. I rarely write reviews. In fact, I rarely have less than stellar experiences when I travel. I'm not hard to please. I’ve visited Ashland more times than I can count (on the way to see family) and have enjoyed Ashland Springs Hotel (downtown) every singe visit. Unfortunately, it was fully booked this trip (like all other hotels in the area). Lithia Springs “Resort” had an abundance of availability, and now I know why. This place is located in what resembles a strip mall, along with a bank and an assisted living facility. The guy who checks guests in (Alex) hands down provided the most off-putting customer service I have ever had the displeasure of being witness to in all of my travels. I worked at a front desk of a very nice resort (as a kid and prior to my current career). I took pride in making sure guests had a good experience - it’s not hard to do. This guy sincerely needs training and this place needs to be sold. This is not a resort.||Not only is this place run-down and gross (check out the ant trap next to the tiny, leaking fridge in my room), but customer service is abysmal, as mentioned. I only booked for one night (thank GOD!) and spent the $320 (my room is not worth more than a third of that price) with the idea I would at the very least enjoy the included breakfast and attempt to request a late check-out (which is only a half hour later than regular checkout - no point) before attending an afternoon meeting. Nope! Alex proceeds to tell me (and the other guests) that despite booking when breakfast was included in this laughably lofty rate (two weeks prior), it now costs $19 (starting July 1st - which was the day of our check-in) to eat there…and it’s not like this "resort" is located downtown or in area where you can walk to an alternative. I causally let him know that if guests book on or after July 1st, that would make sense, but it wouldn’t be legal to change terms and conditions after payment (I think he was confused). He was so offended by both my statement and the surprise of the other couple (also struggling to get through check-in), he went on to state that the money went to them (the employees) and proceeded to attempt to make us feel bad for questioning this unexpected change - again, most bizarre interaction I’ve ever had in a customer service setting. I asked if there was anyone I could confirm this with and his response was “maybe staying here isn’t a good fit for you”, as if that was not already clear to me. What a wildly inappropriate comment and all around weird guy. If there were any other places to stay on this busy 4th of July weekend, and if I could've been provided a refund, I would have departed SO quickly. It’s not legal to include amenities (like breakfast), charge guests, and then demand a fee (in any amount) for said services or goods. More importantly, the location, the room, the customer service, the lack of amenities - yuck, guys. I can’t believe I paying as much as I am to stay here for one night. I hate feeling ripped off. Save yourself the trouble everyone, and stay elsewhere. Also, do a Google-map viewing to check out the location - the pic's are incredibly misleading....
Read moreI Overall Impression: While Lithia Springs Resort boasts a tranquil setting and the promise of relaxation, my recent stay was far from peaceful. Several issues, including a misleading depiction of the room size, disruptive noise from neighboring guests, and an unresponsive staff, significantly detracted from the experience. While the in-room mineral bath and the afternoon tea service were enjoyable aspects of our stay, the negatives unfortunately outweigh the positives, and I cannot recommend this resort. Accommodations: I stayed in a king-size bedroom, which, despite appearing large in photos, was disappointingly small and cramped in reality. It was difficult to move around comfortably. However, the biggest issue with the room was its shared tiny entryway with the adjacent room. Every time the connecting door was opened, our room door shook significantly due to air pressure changes. This, coupled with the strong smell of marijuana smoke emanating from the neighboring room each time the door opened, created a very unpleasant and disruptive environment. To make matters worse, our neighbors were coming and going late into the night, well past midnight, which repeatedly disturbed our sleep. Dining: The included breakfast and afternoon tea were decent, but with room for improvement. The breakfast was fairly average, consisting of standard fare like scrambled eggs, potatoes, and gravy. The afternoon tea was a nice touch, though the pastry selection was a bit limited. Overall Experience: My stay at Lithia Springs Resort was deeply disappointing. The combination of the misleading room size, the disruptive noise and smell from the neighboring room, and the lack of staff response to our concerns created a stressful and unpleasant environment. The phone in our room was not working, and despite multiple attempts to call the front desk using the number on their website, we were unable to reach anyone. This lack of communication and inability to resolve the issues made the situation even more frustrating. While the in-room mineral bath and the afternoon tea were enjoyable, they could not compensate for the significant disturbances we experienced. Additional Notes: I strongly urge the resort to address the issue of noise transfer between rooms and to ensure that their staff is responsive to guest concerns, especially during the late-night hours. Until these issues are resolved, I cannot recommend this resort to...
Read moreThe hot springs and rooms offers a very safe environment to have a healing experience & I of course want others to know that this space offers that. Though multiple times in the morning, the owners and staff treated me very poorly and turned the healing space into an emotionally traumatic one more than once and I feel it's important to speak up. I was running late getting out of the room in the morning a couple times, and they could have held me accountable or set a boundary in a healthy way but instead they threatened to call the police on me and to accuse me of trespassing all because I was slow to leave in the morning. Of course people are going to be slow leaving at a healing space because it can be emotional and tender to have that time. They need to figure out healthier boundary setting because no one deserves their nervous system to be in fight or flight mode in a place where people specifically come to heal that. It's still worth it to soak in the tubs and use the healing space. Though I feel it's important to voice the injustice I felt as a woman coming to the healing waters needing healing. After they threatened to call the police, they told me they wanted to ban me from coming again just because of my slow pace in the mornings. I was vulnerable with them sharing that I had just left a domestic violence situation in hope they would have some patience with me or understanding to leave the hot springs, and they still did not show any care or concern. Another sister who is a single mom with a toddler was staying there was healing from cancer and she was also running late in the morning to leave. They treated her very poorly as well in a similar way.
The space is physically gorgeous. It felt really heartless and cold the way that we were treated by the people who run it.
My time there was so magical but so sad to remember how me and another sister were treated by the staff in the morning. I feel it would uplevel the space if they held the awareness that many who show up to hot springs are in serious need of healing. If they can learn how to give grace and kindness to woman and mothers leaving in the morning, it would become more of a healing space. Patience...
