The sheets and towels are clean. That's why I'm giving them two stars instead of one. The floor in my room was filthy and obviously hadn't been vacuumed in a long time. The upholstered chair was also dirty and had some kind of sticky substance embedded in the fabric. The dresser drawers were gross inside and I definitely didn't want to put my clean clothes in them. The refrigerator had a distinct smell of rotten milk. I was gone all day after the first night, and came back to find housekeeping never came by my room to empty the trash cans, make the bed, or do any kind of cleaning. I called the front desk to ask about the housekeeping policy, and I was told they would come by after about 5 days (I'm traveling for work and scheduled for 13 nights here). I politely explained how dirty my room was and asked if housekeeping could do a thorough cleaning the following day. The front desk agent was extremely polite, apologized for the situation, and said he would make a note for housekeeping to come by and specifically clean those items. The next day when I got back to my room, housekeeping had come by to make the bed and empty the trash, but the carpet, chair, and drawers were still disgusting. I had to ask for a vacuum cleaner and cleaning supplies so I could clean the room myself. All of the pictures I posted are from AFTER housekeeping supposedly did a full cleaning of the room.
In short, this place is gross and when you walk through the property it's obvious that some or all of the staff members do not care about cleanliness. I haven't seen any rodents or bugs, and the bed is ok. The property is ok and the hotel amenities are nice enough, but the whole hotel just feels dirty and run down. I definitely would not choose to...
Read moreHorrible place. Worst hotel experience ever. Started with wrong key issued. Stood at door using card given to me with room number on card holder. After several tries someone inside room yelled at me. Room was occupied, my room was next door. Wrong number written. I get to my room. Pitch black. Neither switch near door works a light. Use my cell phone to find a lamp. Bulb was out on light near door and switch lamp was connected to was also shut off. Beds were cheap and uncomfortable. Sink in bathroom was so much higher than standard. I'm six foot and it was hard to shave over sink. Bath tub had a broken plug so it filled with water. Came back after a long day, wanted a snack. Only food in building was a vending machine on second floor. It wouldn't work. Two calls and a trip down to lobby and guy working didn't even offer to come up to see the problem. Also room was never cleaned. Bed still a mess and bathroom towels all over the floor. I was told rooms were only cleaned every other day. Unfortunately I was staying on the off day for my room on my two night stay. They were going to clean it after I checked out. While talking about food, the rate for the room included breakfast. When I got up first day and went down, nothing. Blamed covid but never specified it in booking process. I pointed out the light out and tub issue to housekeeping before I left. She very nicely told me she would have maintenence take care of it. When I came back room was still dark and tub still not fixed. I almost left at midnight and drove home but too tired. Stay far away...
Read moreThis hotel is an excellent place to spend the night while traveling through Massachusetts. The staff is friendly and professional, our room was clean and comfortable with WIFI, TV and other amenities in the room. We were traveling, at a leisurely vacation pace enroute to visit relatives in western New York State after visiting other relatives in Maine. We are from Arizona and this a vacation to visit relatives in the Northeast and tour the area. When it came time to look for a place to stay I used the Choice Hotels app on my phone and selected the Comfort Inn in Auburn which was nearby. We frequently stay a night or two at Comfort Inns when touring by car and this hotel lived up to what we have come to expect from Comfort Inns which is a reasonably priced, comfortable and safe place to spend the night while traveling. The one area where it failed to meet our expectations was breakfast. Unlike most Comfort Inns (at least the ones we are familiar with in the Southwest where we live) the breakfast was provided by a separate vendor in the same building. The breakfast choices were more limited than what we are used to and it was not free (it came to about $12 for the two of us). However, our overall experience was such that the next time we find ourselves in Auburn, MA we will choose this hotel...
