I would give 5 stars but the staff can be very rude and inconsiderate. I asked the music be turned down so I could study, as I was visiting my cousin and I had no service at her house and needed to use their WiFi. (I've since changed my carrier, but that's neither here nor there). I was the only customer left in the building, and they turned it down momentarily, but turned it up even higher not even 5 minutes later. They offer wifi as a way to keep customers there, and to get them to continue purchasing coffee, but are rude once you've spent your money. Not to mention I bought 4 or 5 $5 venti cappuccinos, during the 4 hour time period I was there. I had close to a full coffee a half hour before closing time, so they figured I was of no longer of use to them anymore, since I likely wouldn't be spending anymore money. I also bought food and a $15 pair of headphones to listen to my lectures on while I was there. I spent about $50 during this visit and expected more respect from the workers than I recieved. I no longer stop for coffee here, simply because the staff were rude, and I refuse to give any of my hard earned money to people who don't hire respectful individuals to represent their company. Update: If you're a snotty brat looking for a job, go to Starbucks, as I've noticed this seems to be their preferred...
Read moreMy sister and I were in this morning, and the staff made us very uncomfortable. We are African American women that live in the area, and this is the second time we had a bad experience. The gentleman behind the counter threw my order (well just the oatmeal topping), on the counter and called my name. I said that I still needed the oatmeal..another gentleman then threw the oatmeal down on the counter (it spilled a bit). I looked at them confused, and then had to ask him for a bag (while all the other orders on the counter were bagged). He gave me a bag, but was very awkward about it. A woman behind the counter then told us that we were all set to leave..but my sisters coffee wasn't ready. She then made a comment about how we couldn't leave just yet since my sister didn't get her coffee..almost trying to joke about it because even she knew it was a ridiculous and rude thing to say, as she didn't tell anyone else to leave. We are not sure why the staff treated us this way and not the other white patrons in the location. We believe there was some disparity in treatment based on racial bias. The staff there needs to be trained on how to deal with non-white customers, which is ridiculous...
Read moreUsually like this location, but my last experience made me decide that I will not be returning. I ordered an iced Americano with cream, which is my typical order. Upon getting my Americano, I noticed that the cup was mostly ice, so we asked if we could have a little less ice (I wanted more water instead). The employees openly rolled their eyes when asked to fix their mistakes. Their solution? They dumped out some ice, but didn't refill the cup, so I ended up with espresso that filled 1/4 of the cup and the rest was ice. My husband went back and asked again for a correction. I ended up with an Americano with no ice, so my order was never really what I wanted. The whole time, my husband mentioned that employees were rolling their eyes and making gestures implying that their were angry at being requested to remake the drink. I don't typically get angry, but when I am paying $5 for a coffee, I like to get what I ordered. Also, I don't appreciate attitude when I politely ask for a correction to my order. I'm sad that this happened, as Auburn used to be my go-to...
