Stayed here for one night with a friend of mine. We drove down for a signing at Book People and really wanted something walking distance. Came across this and booked it straight away, and we are so glad we did.
After originally booking the Garbo suite, we ended up in the Monroe suite. The room was great. We loved everything about it. From the thoughtful and comfortable furniture, to the original (looking?) wood doors and glass knobs. There was a descent sized bathroom with a tub/shower combo and a skylight. The bedroom was a good size with three windows and a beautiful queen sized bed. The coverings and pillows were comfortable. The mattress was a bit firm but worked well for me as I have low back issues.
The living room had a pull out sofa that was inviting and comfortable both put up and folded out. It included a tri-fold, full-size memory foam mattress that was surprisingly comfortable.
A small kitchen and dining area are connected to the living room. The kitchen even included a gas stove and dishwasher. The table easily sat 4.
Both the main room and bedroom had its own over the door AC/heater that worked well and kept the rooms comfortable.
Breakfast was served in the community room/kitchen that just off the walkway. We walked in to find oatmeal and various toppings along with yogurt and fruit on the bar with juice and breads as well. Nick, the owner/manager also made us a plate of fresh greens salad and a slice of frittata. It was an excellent breakfast and so much better than any continental option at a chain hotel. He did have freshly ground coffee on hand, but as an espresso drinker myself, I did not try any.
Overall, it was just a lovely experience. I came home and told my husband we need to go back for the weekend as a family. Or not. Just us would be great as the charm of the place did have a romantic feel.
Highly recommend Brava House for anyone looking to stay in the area. With only an 5-10 minute walk from restaurants, shops, coffee shoppes, and more, you can’t go wrong. The room even includes a guide to nearby jaunts that has real opinions on each one—not just web...
Read moreWe have now stayed 3 times at Brava House! Each stay as wonderful as the first! Great accommodations , Brian is very quick respond to questions and rooms are always very clean!! My favorite place to stay in Austin ..... very close to everything and I'll repeat that parking is great because it is so hard to find! We prefer our money to go to hard-working, detail oriented, kind owners vs large conglomerate hotel.
Just stayed at Brava House for 2 nights during the week and had a fabulous stay! Great location!! Continental breakfast (weekday is continental…weekend is full breakfast) was perfect…fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, quiche, coffee, tea! The room was very clean with good linens (I’m picky about linens, towels), clean bathroom! Place was fully booked at the time of our stay and we had NO problems with water pressure or hot water availability…have experienced this in other places. Pretty Victorian home that is beautifully furnished with very nice landscaping and outdoor seating areas to enjoy! We stayed in the Garbo suite that was very well appointed with sturdy antique furniture and particularly appreciated the mini fridge/freezer, microwave, sink, paper towels since we brought specialty food items with us due to recent surgery! Parking is a definite plus and many places in my search did not offer good parking options. Will definitely stay here again! Thank you for a wonderful...
Read moreThe Brava house is a beautiful little gem in Austin. Everything about this bed and breakfast was fantastic! From the location, to the easy and safe parking, the convenient check in and check out, the free breakfast in the morning, and how neat and clean the room was. I stayed in Casablanca room and it had a beautiful queen size bed. Behind were two large windows overlooking the patio area. It also had an extra space that included a sleeper sofa with a coffee table. I booked for Valentine’s Day and from the moment we got there we fell in love. It was a gloomy rainy day and we stayed in our cozy room, ordered food and watched a movie. We enjoyed our room so much we never left it. The property owner, Bryan was east to reach. He explained the check in time and check out, followed up with an invitation for breakfast in the morning and asked how we enjoyed our time there. In the morning when getting ready for breakfast, we were greeted by their friendly staff, Anay. She was very nice, courteous and helpful. Offered us coffee, fruits, yogurt anything we wanted. Always with a smile on her face that made us feel at home. When we checked out, she thanked us for our visit and told us to come back again and offered us some waters for the road. I definitely loved this beautiful bed and breakfast and I plan to return again soon. I found my new favorite stay whenever I come to Austin. Thank you so much! -...
