I’ve been a loyal Hampton Inn customer for a few years now and always look forward to staying at them when I travel. I’m sad to say this was my first disappointing stay at a Hampton.
Pros: Convenient location, no bed bugs!, pretty pretty pretty good breakfast, felt (relatively) safe- especially when checking in late at night, which is important to me (see my past reviews LOL).
A note- Due to this hotel’s location near some busy roads, the noise at night (truck engines, sirens etc) was kind of nonstop- that isn’t the hotel’s fault and some people can sleep through all of that, but just making a note of it in case you’re like me and can’t. I used a white noise app on my phone and that helped.
Cons: Cleanliness in the room left something to be desired… some red substance on the desk/counter area, not just a stain because it kind of had chunks in it!! (puke??)… gross. Also the carpet in the one corner of the room was SOAKING wet. Not just damp. Like flooded. Remember the scene in Christmas Vacation “why is the carpet all wet, Todd?” “I don’t knooOOOOOwwwwww, Margo!” Someone was either doing a reenactment of that or maybe a rap mogul was having a party in here all week before we got here. Speaking of parties, as me and my young kid were going to sleep, around 11pm some people came out into the hallway and started screaming at each other dropping F bombs every other word. I took a video because I honestly thought it might escalate, and wanted to post it… but if I try to post it here for laughs it will get flagged and I will get banned from posting reviews. When I told management what was going on, I definitely felt no sense or urgency and received no reply to my last message of “please make them stop” (I genuinely started to feel unsafe at that point, since it was right outside my door). Eventually the commotion did stop. (I guess the manager did come up to check, but I heard nothing back and was left wondering what was going on.)
Ok and finally just one more insulting thing, the only coffee in the room was decaf. Another...
Read moreI stayed here yesterday 1/6/19. I told the lady at the front desk this morning at about 9am, that I was very uncomfortable on the bed. I just felt like I was getting tiny stabs all over my body and in my hair it felt like I was under water, head hurt in a weird way. I just ignored it, figured it was all in my head or maybe I was allergic to the detergent they use...around 2am I got tired of being woken up to tiny bits of pain. I took a shower washed my hair and all of that pain went away. I realized it was the bed. All she did was say sorry and I should've asked for another room. That's it. The maintenance guy came over, I told my story again, he didn't seem surprised, he seemed like he's heard this before. The lady said if it were bed bugs they'd be big not small...didn't seem true, I know they come in all shapes and sizes... I told her I figured one room feels like this they all will. The breakfast was less than satisfying, today it was just watery scrambled eggs and french toast cut to look like french toast sticks. I read in the reviews you get a little bag of snacks when you check out. She didn't offer me one, I was looking forward to a baggy wanted to see what exactly was Just a sad night. Sad breakfast. I'll never return to this location. May never use Hampton Inn again. Although my company paid for this, I do choose...

We stayed one night at Hampton Inn by Hilton Youngstown-West I-80 as this was about half-way point between NYC and Chicago. It was just a rest stop for us. This hotel was clean and quiet. There were several restaurants around the hotel in walking distance.
We had room 301, which was at the far end of the building. Oddly the main entrance is at 1 end of the building, most hotel is in the middleish. If you have issues walking, I suggest asking for a room closer to the elevator.
Our king room was huge! It felt like there was a missed opportunity as this would have been a spacious double queen room. Bathroom was at the far end of the room, which was only a little problematic when you really have to go! LOL The coat hangar on the wall is genius for rainy days or even colder weather. The only thing that puzzled us was the lack of dresser/drawer space... Microwave in the middle, fridge on the left, what is that door on the right? We opened it and it was 3 baskets. Was this our dresser/drawer space? Odd... But since we were only staying 1 night we didn't need to use this...
Pool but no hot tub, tiny gym, and 1 computer and printer in the business center. Breakfast was included and it was standard hotel fare.
We would definitely stay here again, if we do another...
