Absolutely fabulous place. They definitely raised the bar compared to the last couple Mexican restaurants I ate at. Great service, atmosphere, nicely remodeled and bathroom is even more upscale.
You are greeted outside the main entrance by giant 8 foot tall sunflower plants. Inside has the usual streamers, banners and some nice painted murals on the walls.
I was greeted asked my preference for seating. I picked a booth. Second staff member brought menu, cutlery along with chips, salsa and an unexpected treat some coleslaw. He took my drink order and returned shortly with my bottle of Jarritos and Pepsi no ice. Finally someone got my drink order right. LOL!
Chips were fresh and of great abundance, so many they were almost falling out of the basket. The sauce was thick, spicy and you could actually see pieces of vegetables in it. Very flavourful and the coleslaw was really good.
I ordered the steak and chicken Fajitas and 2 covered plates were brought out. 1 with the rice, refried beans, lettuce, pico de gio, sour cream and guacamole. Hot stuff was hot and cold stuff cool.
Iron griddle with wooden plate insert had all the meat, onions and peppers etc.. It was sizzling loudly and giving out steam.
Start to finish it was a great experience and better tasting meal and the cool thing was there were 5 different hot sauces on the table and I tried them all.
I am favoriting this place and hope to make it a regular stop since I drive this route several times a year.
I highly recommend trying out this place if you are ever...
Read moreFood is mediocre -- guacamole is more sour cream than avocado; what authentic Mexican restaurant serves coleslaw with chips? Though the frozen strawberry margarita actually had some form of alcohol in it, the regular margarita tasted like lime juice and salt, and that was the top shelf gold margarita served at the restaurant. The enchiladas were rather uninteresting, particularly the chicken enchiladas that had no sauce. The rice was lifeless and dry, and of our three entrées only one had rice and beans--of our other two entrées, one had rice the other had watery refried beans. While our server did get us all of our food, he seemed to be scared of us. He would come to the table drop something and quickly run away. He did not speak to us and he had a very hard time answering our questions about what kind of tequila was in the margaritas. He also was unable to get us soda water, which was surprising because the menu advertises a full bar. They clearly do not have a full bar. Our server also had to be prompted for a itemized receipt. What he brought out simply had the total for the meal and the tax. All this said, we still left a tip of over 20%. Our complaint is more with the lack of training that the management provides their servers and the unimaginative menu that they have created. This is certainly nothing like authentic Mexican, and it doesn't even qualify as good Tex-Mex. You'll get food every bit as good if not better at...
Read moreOn Father’s Day, I placed a To Go order. I was very specific with the girl who answered the phone, and asked questions to make sure I was ordering the right thing. I ordered the fajitas for two and asked her if that came with six tortillas, the four meats, and two containers of rice etc. She said yes. My husband picked it up and brought it home. I opened it and there were only three tortillas, one side of the rice and such, and no chorizo. I called and asked to speak to a manger and a lady took the call and was very rude. I explained what happened and she said “I was the one who took the order” (implying that I was lying, I’m assuming) and then told me to return the food and get a refund. Never apologized or offered to fix the problem. I’ve been working in restaurants and customer service for over 18 years. I understand that accidents happen. But, her lack of consideration and poor customer service was very frustrating. I returned the food and spoke with the actual manager when I arrived. He was very nice and offered to fix it but I already called and ordered food from somewhere else. That was only my second time ordering from there, and it’s unfortunate how one rude employee can ruin it, because I loved it the first time, but probably will never...
