This place is horrible! Be careful if you do NOT speak Spanish. (I am Hispanic but I don’t speak Spanish). I tried to order food and the woman at the Bistro didn’t speak English. I tried to be patient but why is this my fault or problem? I asked to speak to a manager for help and was left on hold for almost 10 minutes. I hung up and called the front desk. I politely told them what happened and I was trying to just order food. They apologized and said the women was new and that they apologized. I tried not to make a big deal out of it, I just wanted to order food. They took my order and that was that. They even sent a card to my room with some free snacks and drinks. I thanked them and the next day I spoke to a female manager to thank her personally. I told her the man that intervened was helpful and I appreciated it. I thought things were over. I assumed that they fixed the problem… well the next morning I tried to order breakfast for me and my wife (who just had surgery). I called the Bistro and a woman Answered and I tried to order our food and I was shocked to find out that it was the same woman who speaks NO ENGLISH trying to take my order! I tried to be patient and polite and order my food but it was impossible to order from someone who doesn’t speak English and I politely asked for. Mananger and she sounded confused and then the line went dead! I then called to the front desk very upset since we just went through this the other day????? I spoke to the head manager and he didn’t seem to care. He was speaking over me and just trying to minimize what was going on. I explained to him that I didn’t speak Spanish and I was just trying to order food for me and my wife and I questioned why” they would have a woman who doesn’t speak English working for him at a hotel trying to take people’s order if she doesn’t speak English and he said very indignantly that this was South Florida??? Isn’t South Florida in the United States? Isn’t this a hotel where people like myself travel from all over the country to pay money to stay? Again, I am Hispanic, I am Honduran and Belizean. I just don’t speak Spanish. I shouldn’t be punished because I don’t speak Spanish. I think it is awesome that employees can speak Spanish. I get it Florida has a large hispanic community but there are people who speak English and would like to simply order breakfast without any drama. I don’t think it makes sense having a solely or Mostly Spanish speaking employee answer the phone to take orders for food if she doesn’t understand or speak English. I want to be clear… I AM HISPANIC, I just don’t speak Spanish. To me this is...
Read moreI have to say that I stay in a lot of Marriott Hotels during the year. I have to say that the Aventura Mall Courtyard takes the top spot. All the staff in this Hotel gave us such an excellent treatment. I spent there only one day and I was really amazed and have to congratulate the Turnberry management company. All people from the desk to the restaurant to the housekeeping were just impressive. Ricardo was always really nice as well as the ladies in the desk. Really helpful helping with luggage, helping anyway they could. The lady in the restaurant which if I recall correctly her name started with a "T" (I was almost sure I copied her name somewhere but can't find it) was also really really nice helping with my plates and all requests I made. Antonio was really nice also, when we were leaving he helped me with my luggage to the elevator. All the staff was just great. KUDOS to all.
Note, we stayed for one night because we were taking a cruise the next day and wished we would have stayed longer.
Here I want to explain my scoring in cases were it is not excellent. Hotels in Miami are expensive so can't really put an excellent on Value for the Money. I stay all thru out eastern US several times a year and Miami is expensive even so more than Washington DC or New York. I think I felt this way because public transportation in Miami is none-existent when compared to DC or NYC. In those cities you can find a hotel further out that is more reasonably priced and still get to where you need to get without having to get into a Taxi, or Uber. However this hotel would probably get an excellent when compared to other Hotels in the Miami area. Location seem okay, not very walk-able but I think Miami in general is not to walking friendly (or at least not compared to other cities I am used to) so probably for Hotels in the area this is the best. Did look into staying in Hotels close to the beach but they were double or triple the price of this. Dining was great. As good as a Hotel restaurant can be. I don't think any Hotel can get an excellent in the restaurant Menu.
The staff and the treatment they give you gets a beyond excellent...
Read moreMy Home Away From Home – Courtyard Marriott||The Courtyard Marriott has truly become my home away from home. I’ve stayed here many times, but this past visit was especially meaningful. When my mom had a serious fall, I needed a place to stay long-term — and I ended up calling this hotel home for four months. There was no question where I’d go, because I knew the warmth and care I’d receive here.||The staff is absolutely incredible. Every morning, I look forward to my coffee run, not just for the caffeine, but for the friendly faces who already know my order and start preparing it the moment they see me. Isabelle, Anna, Sharon, Luz, Stephanie, and Ancia greet me with such genuine enthusiasm at 6 a.m. — it never fails to lift my spirits.||The housekeeping team has also been amazing — always kind, respectful, and attentive. Special thanks to Yvonette, Joanne, Jennifer, and Ramona. I know I’m probably missing a few names, but please know how much I appreciate all of you.||And of course, the wonderful front desk team: Shelton, Rushea, Andice, Ranniesha, and Rafael — thank you for always being so helpful, especially Rafael, who patiently assists me every time I need to scan something (which is often!).||A huge shoutout to Roberto, who seems to do endless things for me — always with kindness, patience, and a smile.||The staff even handles my never-ending stream of Amazon packages with such grace and good humor. That kind of daily thoughtfulness doesn’t go unnoticed.||And to all of the amazing management who have managed to hire, train, and retain such a phenomenal team — thank you. It speaks volumes about your leadership.||You all made a very difficult time so much easier. I’m beyond grateful, and I’ll never forget the comfort and sense of family you provided.||Sincerely,...
