We have stayed at many different Hampton Inn’s and we would not recommend staying at this one. First night there I was laying in the bed, got up and noticed something crawling on the pillow. Sure enough, it was a bed bug. Front desk apologized and moved us to a different room. He also stated we would be compensated with reward points due to this. I used to work in property management so I know that bed bugs can spread like wildfire and they are absolutely not something to mess around with! Front desk asked the manager for us about washing/drying our clothes. She told us that the manager said we would be reimbursed “through their insurance”. I figured it was a lie as I’ve never heard such a thing. Never were we contacted by the actual manager regarding the situation and never were we refunded either. Pretty crazy considering that was the least that could be done to ensure we don’t 1. Spread anything into the new hotel room we were put in and 2. Bring them home with us. We paid over $30 in just laundry to make sure our items were clean after that. We ended up throwing away our suitcase, 2 blankets and our 2 expensive dog beds for our dogs to be on the safe side since our items were in that bed bug room for hours. I’m pretty sure most other hotels would’ve atleast refunded us for the laundry we had to do. Oh and as for us getting compensated for bed bugs in our room… we were given 8,000 points. Is it better than nothing? Sure. But that’s a pretty laughable amount to give for such an issue especially considering us spending our own money to wash everything and throwing out expensive items… not to mention how paranoid we were the entire time we stayed the rest of the time. It was also around 2-3am when this happened and we didn’t get to bed until 5am. I literally could not sleep most nights because of being so paranoid and scared that the new room had bed bugs too or that our stuff now had them. The rooms are also not cleaned thoroughly. In both rooms we were in behind the beds there was tons of trash, dirt and food. We were here to get our dog’s cancer treated at Johns Hopkins and this added to our already emotional and stressful situation. Honestly, do yourself a favor and listen to the negative reviews. We wouldn’t ever book here again.

I travel nearly every other week for work. Hilton owned hotels in a variety of states and even though I have drastically noticed a decline in cleanliness (especially in the bathrooms) I have never in my life run into this before. I went to use the restroom and turned around and there was legitimately human feces on the toilet tank lid and wall. I noticed the toilet had trouble flushing so I’m guessing a previous guest tried fixing it with fecal matter on their hands only to leave some behind. The fact this bathroom wasn’t cleaned or wiped down thoroughly and there was fecal matter in the room I paid to stay in is absolutely vile. How is it sanitized? I often notice hair remnants in the shower as well across Hilton’s as a whole. But this is a whole new level and a complete biohazard. I reported it to the front desk where at first I was told “nothing can be done.” Now I get the girl probably didn’t know what to do, it’s a unique case, but who in their right mind wouldn’t automatically move someone to a new room after hearing that? She came up and cleaned it herself which I greatly appreciated, however, it left me wondering of the cleanliness of the room in general. What about people who are immunocompromised? Children? Elderly? Anyone in general. This is unacceptable and I’m disgusted at the complete decline of Hilton’s as a whole and the cleanliness. I took a Snapchat video that night to document. This is a first and I will not be staying there again.

The hotel room itself was nice, spacious and clean. However, the front desk staff was horrible. With the exception of Tasha, who was here the morning we checked out only, everyone else at the front desk was rude, short, and extremely dismissive. I asked questions a few times since we don't know the area and didn't know where to fill up our water bottles. Each time I was given an answer of "I don't know" and told to wait prior to that because the front desk personnel was either on their cell phone talking to a friend or playing a game. I've worked in the hotel industry for years and have never seen this kind of behavior repeatedly. As a customer, I expect for the person in interacting with at the front desk to greet me, be friendly and helpful. If your don't like speaking or interacting with customers, then a customer facing job isn't what you should be doing. The breakfast was once of the worst we've encountered also. It was sad, lacking and not full most of the time. A couple of our kids went to the gas station in the same parking lot to get breakfast bowls instead. Overall, while the rooms were nice and they were pet friendly, I can't say we'd ever come back or recommend this particular hotel.

I make frequent trips to Baltimore for healthcare and have always stayed at the Bayview Hampton Inn. I reserved a two Queen bedroom, but when I arrived I was assigned a handicap accessible room which did not have a bathtub. Each time I travel to this facility I look forward to relaxing in a tub after a long flight. I was never informed that my room was changed. I went downstairs and told the attendant that I didn't reserve a handicap accessible room and request to be assigned to the room I reserved. The attendant said I arrived early so they put in me the first available room. I request to have the room changed and the attendant stated my room was given to someone else and the only rooms they have available were handicap accessible rooms. I went out to get lunch after speaking with the attendant and when I returned my room my key card was deactivated. I went downstairs and to inform the attendant who gave me a new set of room key cards. I returned to my room and the new set cards didn't work either. I again went downstairs to inform the attendant. The attendant return to the floor with me and had to jiggle the handle and try repeatedly until she managed to get the door to open. By this time my lunch was cold. Once I finally managed to get settled in I noticed there was no security latch on the door and loud noises were coming from the adjoining room. I went downstairs and requested to be moved to another room. The attendant moved me from 421 to 322 (Handicap Room). I asked the attendant why the declined customer service and stated they were under new management. I told her that each time I completed my stay I would give excellent reviews. The fact that I didn't have to go through the hassle of looking for a hotel each time I visited from out of state was convenient and I didn't have to worry about the hotel cleanliness, customer service, etc. I have now decided to end my frequent stays at this hotel due to the decline in...
