I have stayed at hotels that were cheaper and more nice. Multiple things wrong with the room. The room didn't justify the cost, only the lack of vacancy in the surrounding area allowed them to charge such a rate. They have no guest services after 9 PM. So if anything happens your out of luck until the AM. Spend more stay somewhere else.
Response to GM. 08-17-2020
That's not what your worker "Peggy Sue" told us when we called at 8:30pm to complain about our guest next door to us who decided to drop off her underage children then she left the premises at which time the children came out and dumped trash outside their/our door. Also we spoke to her about our remote control for the TV not working and she told us we have to come over and bring the remote to get new batteries because she doesn't know what kind of batteries the remote uses and we should come over right away because Guest Services closes at 9 p.m. and no one will be able to help us until the morning. We declined because we had dinner reservations that we were already running late for. We figured we'd replace the batteries with our own. And when we did replace the batteries the remote control still didn't work leaving us stuck on one channel. There weren't enough pillows, two beds and two pillows. My experience was sub par for the price I paid. We actually ended up leaving the next morning and booked the remainder of our stay at the Bluenose Inn. This is Bar Harbor! Step it up!!!
Also don't hide behind Covid-19. Does it sleep during the day and only come out at night? My wife and I are First Responders and we have way more experience with the coronavirus than you do. Don't insult my intelligence. I have stayed at other hotels that had 24 hour guest Services. I called Best Western corporate they said generally it's up to the franchisee to set their hours but also referred to the Maine CDC because of the current Pandemic. I contacted the Maine CDC and they have no regulation on hours, it is up to the hotel.

I wonder why the GM deleted her response to my initial review. She must have realized how silly it made...
Read moreVashawn, Peggy Sue, and the staff members we saw on the grounds were all very welcoming. There is a pool, 24 hour laundry, vending machines, and a playground (with swings and even a baby swing!) on the premises. There is plentiful free parking and we were able to park in front of our room most of the time. There are 2 entrances on Route 3, so if you miss the first one, you can get the second. Continental breakfast is from 6:30 to 10 and they have highchairs in the dining room.
In the rooms, the blackout curtains only go a little bit under the windows so sunlight will still come in during the day. The shampoo and conditioner were sulfate and paraben free. There were also a few bags for sanitary napkin disposal and a few pool towels which were a nice touch. The bathroom door is a sliding door so there is a gap in the door; there is something on the other side so your roommate won't peep in on you but just be mindful that y'all be able to hear each other through the door. We had no issues with WiFi. We were able to fit a pack and play in between the 2 Queen beds.
We stayed during the summer and the room felt humid (usually around 75-88 percent humidity) so the carpet always felt a bit humid. It's nice that it's a 5 minute drive to the Visitors Center/Hulls Cove entrance of Acadia National Park. Bar Harbor Lobster Pound (open seasonally) is also really close. If you stay here, also check out Sweet Pea's and...
Read moreI stayed there from 8/1 to 8/3, I booked through Expedia for 8/2 but arrived early and booked 8/1 directly with the hotel. I reminded them that I arrived early and already had reservations for the following night. They put me in a disabled room and then the next morning while on my Hike at Acadia a man from the front desk called, just to let me know what an inconvenience I was to him because it was illegal for him to touch my bags so he had to rearrange a bunch of people to accommodate me. His words exactly " I just called and I wanted to let you know you really inconvenienced me today! Its illegal for me to touch your bags so I have to leave you in that room." I started to apologize, for the unfortunate situation, I didn't pick the room and all I did was book the room directly with them. After a few minutes, I realized I did nothing wrong, so I called them back and offered to just go back and get all my things and check out. But lady said they already had things figured out and it was ok. I assure you all I'm not a Troll and rarely leave negative reviews, but for this guy to call me back just to let me know how I made his brain work hard for work that day? Sorry, that is not customer service. Who calls their guests just to let them know they caused them an inconvenience, no action was even required for...
