Let me start by saying that this hotel is not terrible by any means, however, with that being said, it definitely needs to improve in some areas. I have stayed in some higher end hotels that don't have a microwave in the room and it is just understood that they want you to eat in their restaurant and/or room service, but I will never understand why there are no microwaves in most hotel rooms these days, and this hotel is no exception. There is a community microwave you can use in the lobby but that is never convenient if you ask me. There also isn't a coffee maker in any of the rooms either. There is a refrigerator, albeit a pretty small one but that's not a huge deal. There is ONE ice maker for the entire hotel that is located in the lobby. Again, not a huge deal, however, it was not working. We were informed that we could walk to the hotel next door for ice, but I mean come on, that is not exactly convenient either. The rooms are really cute and a little small but spacious enough and while I enjoy a room with no carpet it really does amplify any and all sounds. Including the herd of elephants that were bowling and running a marathon in their room at 5 am. In our bathroom the faucet handle completely came off in our hands. It still worked but it needs to be fixed. Now, with all of the negative out of the way, let's talk about the positive. First off, the food choices were so convenient and exactly what we needed to grab on our way out the door early in the morning. There's a great variety and the best were the Jimmy Dean individually wrapped breakfast sandwiches. There's also fresh fruit and different granola/snack bars that you can grab as well which is included in the price of your stay. The bean to cup coffee is actually really nice as well, but I will never get over not having a coffee maker in the room. This hotel is also super clean which I REALLY appreciate. It not only looked clean but smelled really clean and fresh which is nice. If you have ever stayed in a hotel that smelled less than fresh then you really do appreciate it! With all of that being said, I don't know if I would stay here again. It isn't a super cheap hotel so I guess I just expected a little more. It wasn't horrible but it was a little lacking in some areas. I think if you are just dropping in and need a place to sleep then it is perfect. If you are staying multiple days, as we were, then you will start to notice some things that need...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped here for the night as we were just passing through with our small Jack Russell puppy and they are a pet friendly hotel allowing one dog weighing less than 50 lbs. The location is just off interstate 10 but it's far enough off that the traffic noise is very minimal and almost sothting background noise. The first thing we noticed is that the room had vinyl flooring which we prefer for sanitary reasons and the do clean daily which seems like a thing of the past at aloof hotels. The room is smaller than normal rooms but honestly it was not lacking for space nor was it cluttered. They romm had plenty of places to put your luggage up off the floor and though there is no traditional closets there are several hangers and hooks along he wall offering plenty of places to hang things. Here is a list of amenities in the room: mini fridge hair dryer full sized ironing board alarm clock in room Phone desk w/ chair plenty of outlets w/ built-in USB ports plenty of off the floor storage nice size elegant shower with a wall mount dispensary of dove shampoo, conditioner & body wash in the shower. nice lighting that brightens up the room at night and a large window for lots of natural light during the day. very nice blackout shade that actually blocks out light if you want to sleep during the day a privacy shade if want light but not be on display tomthe world
Things that were not in the room (and honestly we didn't miss them with one exception:) mini coffee pot microwave ice bucket closets carpet comfortable chair (we did miss this)
Other amenities on the property: an okay gym grass for walking your dog w/ waste bags provided continental breakfast fresh ground coffee in the lobby nice seating areas in the lobby / breakfast area

Read moreHappy we stayed on a quiet night. Not a lot of guests. Room was on the first floor. Walls in the room had unclean spills. Handle on the bathroom faucet came off, not secured on. The faucet itself was so close to the back of the sink that you could barely wash your hands. Poor design. Shower was nice, good pressure, nice shower head, and stocked bottles of soap and shampoo/conditioner with pumps. Towels were clean but you can tell there is a lack of presentation compared to many hotels in the same category. Beds were comfortable but very firm. Sheets were soft, and one of the bed had a permanent mark/stain on the sheet. Beds were made, but again, lack of presentation and neatness. I felt the room should have been wiped down better. Walls could be cleaned with a rag, simple dish soap, and warm water. Good selection of channels on the television. I would have liked the floor to have been mopped. It felt like it was maybe vacuumed but not washed. (Hard floor, no carpet) Breakfast wasn’t great. Only yogurt flavor was vanilla. Bananas were brown. They had instant oatmeal in cups where you add hot water. Hot breakfast sandwiches were fine. Limited choice of cereal. The coffee was not good. Juice machine seemed to work, but the apple juice in two back to back cups was different colored and tasted more like water. Muffins were dry/stale although sealed. Gym was decent for basic workouts. The lobby was clean and they offered a decent selection of items to purchase from their “market”. Outdoor seating, and plenty of parking. Hopefully they read the reviews and work on the cleaning aspect of...
