Well, I just had a very disappointing experience at this Cracker Barrel (at around 6pm) after ordering the Campfire Shrimp and Grille. I have been seeing it advertised for months on their menus and in my emails. The description of this "seasonal menu item" from which I made my decision in ordering this, says it has "campfire seasoned sweet corn on the cob" along with the potatoes that are "cooked in a tasty buttery broth", along with "grilled shrimp and andouille sausage". However, despite the fact that the picture of this meal showed grilled marks on the corn, no such marks were on the corn and it basically tasted like boiled corn. Further, it was all laying in a watery reddish sauce, that was very spicy. So, I asked the waitress, Ashlyn, about all of these discrepancies, too include food just came out in a skillet and no aluminum, even though both customers at a nearby table had their meals in aluminum. She said she would get the manager to come talk to us. I told the manager how the meal clearly didn't match the picture and menu description from which my friend and I made our dinner selection decision. She said they are just told how to prepare the meals, with a lot of it processed, so it isn't always going to match the picture. She further said that the sauce did have creole seasoning in it. I pointed out to her that the description on menu does not say that. Due to the creole sauce, my friend didn't feel comfortable in eating that. Not once did the manager offer to make something different for my friend, which we feel would have been the appropriate and caring way to deal with that. When I pointed to the table with customers near us who had their meals in the aluminum (as so described on the menu), the manager seemingly growing a bit frustrated with my concerns, sarcastically-sounding to my friend and I said, "Do you want me to bring out the aluminum that we cook it in?". Oh, my gosh!! How uncaring! Well, I paid for this meal, still giving the waitress a 15% tip. However, after eating at this Cracker Barrel for many years, we will definitely not be returning to this Cracker Barrel ever again...perhaps not to any Cracker Barrel. Further, I feel it could certainly be considered possible "false advertising" to not have the picture of this meal, as well as description on the menu, not match what it actually looked like when it came out. I would definitely not recommend this Cracker Barrel. Also, of additional note, the biscuits were "flat" and not as fluffy and as tasty as they were about 5 years ago. Having eaten at Cracker Barrels for about 20+ years, my friend and I both feel the quality of food overall has declined....and as the manager even let us know, the food definitely tastes more processed (she told us that a great portion of their food is "processed and we just heat it up"). Very...
Read moreThis Place needs some help. My husband and I often travel for pleasure as well as business. We often visit Cracker Barrel restaurants all across Texas. I love to find unique gifts in their stores and the food is southern home cooking type. But while at this restaurant, I ordered the 1/2 pound hamburger steak well done, mashed potatoes with brown gravy, green beans and a salad ranch dressing on the side. Only to be served a thin hamburger patty that was , absolutely not what I had been served and eaten in other cracker barrels, ( It was partially raw and other parts were cooked to medium rare) mashed potatoes, green beans and a salad that was nothing but lettuce, literally. My meal arrived without any gravy. The salad did not arrive before or even with my meal, I ended up having to request both. Then the salad was brought out drenched in dressing. She sat it down on the table and immediately realized it was not what I had ordered. She apologized picked it up and took it back. She brought back a bowl of lettuce. The manager came over and in a nutshell acted Like I was crazy. I asked him "does this look to you like a 1/2 pound hamburger steak?" He replied with " I have worked in this place for 5 years and this is what we have always served" I repeated my question and he responded "no, but that is what has been served since I started working here 5 years ago" I was completely dumbfounded. He then offered to redo the food. I declined and did not eat. My husbands eggs were ordered over easy and arrived hard cooked with no runny yellow at all. He ate them anyways. He was served two 1/2 pieces of bacon instead of two slices. The waitress said :I think they are running out". I did end up having to pay for the meal. The manager stated I ordered it and made the decision to decline heaving the meal re-made, in essence accepting it. Wow seriously unacceptable. I would never eat here again, unless the manager is terminated for his inability to handle this simple situation: And the Staff receive additional customer service training as the cashier was rude to us when we were checking out as well. She asked how everything was and I responded Not so good. She responded well that's too bad. So eat here at your own risk. But I would suggest finding an...
Read moreOrdered curbside. Checked in online. After about 5 minutes, I called to make sure that they knew I was there since the sign said call when you arrive. The togo server said they were just waiting for the okra. Almost 10 minutes go by so I call to see if we can just sub for something else. Well the togo server picks up and says please hold them hangs up on me. I call back and this time, no please hold just picks up and hangs up. I call back and same thing. So I decide I'll just go in. 🙄 sn: ordered curbside because I didn't want to go in🙄🙄 I go in and as I'm asking for order the togo server, Kennedy, is coming out with my order and muttering something. The 2 cashiers tell her I'm there. As I'm looking through my order, I see that the order of fries is literally like 6 or 7 fries. She starts looking at it and not saying anything. 🙄 I say why are you staring at it? You know if that's the correct amount don't you? You see them all day. 🙄 She finally says yes that's 1 portion. 😒 I say okay whatever. I need to speak to someone so I can get my tip back. She says nothing and just goes to the back. Another worker, Shameca, decides she wants to butt in. (Mind you, when she came out I thought she was the manager.) I say I want my tip back since you all kept hanging up on me over and over and now I had to come in and get my own food. She says it was only 3 times😒😒 I say 1 time is more than enough and she walks off🙄. That's when I asked what her name was a.d the cashier told me oh she's not the manager 😒😒 okay... so finally the manager, Kristine, comes only to try to make excuses to which I responded that if I hadn't been hung up on and if they would've just told me what was going on, I would've patiently waited. She says the togo server already clocked out so she can't refund me the tip😒 she gave me a voucher for a free meal which is nice and I wasn't even going to write about my experience except that when we got home. (2 minutes away) THE FOOD WAS...
