Alpine Ski Center — Hotel in Beech Mountain

I’ve never written a google review in my life but had to for these folks. My family and I came to Beech Mountain to take our girls (8 and 6 years old) on their first ski trip. We came to Alpine Ski center for all of our rental needs. JD (manager) and his staff were over and beyond accommodating. They were exceptionally helpful in giving their advice and experience for my kids, sizing them up and getting them what they needed. My wife and I have been doing this all of our lives and both agreed that JD and his crew were some of the nicest, most helpful and easy to get along with people we’ve experienced in the business. They were just all around great folks that provided an exceptional experience. Equipment was great. We had zero problems with any of the boots or ski’s we rented from them and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Kids had a great first time and outing. JD even put the Frozen movie on the tv for the kids while we were getting fitted and all paid for.

Great folks and rental shop. Can’t say enough about our experience with them. I would highly recommend going to see JD and his crew at Alpine if you go to Beech Mountain area and need rentals.

I love this ski and snowboard rental place! We rented here during the week, and there were no lines or wait times. Our group of four received very comprehensive advice on gear from an experienced trainer who also works at the shop, Carter and Palmer. If you’re able to come during the week, they offer a great three-day discount prices. Make sure to take pictures of all your gear to ensure you return exactly what you rented—this is an important step. My husband even found gloves he wants to purchase next year, something he hadn’t seen anywhere online. The kids were very happy, and no one experienced any issues with the gear or bindings, unlike previous rentals we’ve had from Sugar Mountain Rentals Resort.

The shop also calls everyone if their hours of operation change, so you won’t waste time driving over only to find a “closed” sign. All our questions were answered, and they even helped my husband with his snowboard, which I had purchased without prior consultation. Do yourself a favor and go to a different rental place. Waited in line for an hour and a half to only receive the boots, had yet to make it to the ski pick up. Only had two employees running the shop during peak season on a weekend. Instead of working quickly and efficiently, the employees were having conversations and teaching lessons with customers. I have never been so mad. 2 hours of paid lift ticket time wasted. Walls which should have been filled with merchandise were empty, the equipment looked like it was about to fall apart & they didn’t offer helmet rental. When I asked for a refund after refusing to wait any longer, I expressed my concerns politely to one of the employees who seemed as if they could care less. Will NEVER waste my time or money here again. PS went 1 mile up the road to rent equipment after this awful experience, $40 cheaper and that includes a...
