I can not say enough good things about the hotel and staff. From the moment we checked in to the time we left, the staff was more than accommodating. We had a very large group of families with kids ranging from 9-18 in age. We were there to celebrate a 16th birthday and they made sure we were all together in the same hotel. With the threat of a major winter storm that was coming and possible blackouts, they wanted us to be as comfortable as possible. We were told we would probably be the only ones at the hotel the first night but after that there were other guests who would be coming in. Which was fine with us. I believe we actually only had another guest the first night. The views from the Slope side/Mountain rooms were Spectacular. The hotel itself is on the older side. With its quaint decor and many quirks it’s almost like stepping back in time. The floors squeak and the walls are a bit thin. The pipes are a little bipolar and are not sure if they want to be really Hot or more on the cold side. Other than that it was extremely well kept and clean. The ladies who came to clean daily were very friendly and always asked if we had everything we needed. I have to give it up to the wait staff and chef at the restaurant in the hotel. They took care of our crowd like pros. The food was was delicious and served in a timely manner. They treated the kids like family and when it got a little too hectic we stepped in to help. I have to say My ONLY complaint would be with another guest and not the hotel. Unfortunately, they thought they were above others, they were impatient, rude, broke in line waiting for ski rentals. Thought it appropriate to walk into a hotel room with children and moms without a mask, not say a word, slam the door to scare everyone. It was at 9:30 pm not past the 11 pm quiet time, nor were the kids or adults in the room being loud as they were sitting discussing an upcoming play at school. When the guests were asked if there was a problem that we could help with, (after the slamming of the door), they pretended to not speak English in 2 separate foreign languages. Which fortunately for us we spoke both languages and would have been able to communicate with them if this were the case. If they thought anyone was being disruptive in our group they should have come to one of the adults and asked us to tone it down. Other than that unfortunate event the rest of the stay was Amazing. Please consider this hotel in your upcoming visit to Beech...
Read moreStayed at the Top of the Beech. Room was spacious and very clean. Older furniture but ok. Great view of the mountain with a balcony. I had 3 issues however that reduced my score. First I had printed out my Booking.com confirmation and I was staying at the Beech Alpen Inn which is what I wanted. In checking my reservation a few weeks ahead I noticed I was changed to Top of the Beech. Since the addresses are different for these 2 places I was confused where I was supposed to go. Second, 1 tried 4 times to reach the Inn, twice through Booking.com, once directly by email and then I called. The first time I called I got a 10 second garbled message that I assumed was a connection problem. I called back and got the same garbled message and left a message and never got a call back. Third, my confirmation states that Breakfast was included. When I arrived I asked where breakfast was served and was told there was no breakfast. That sometime ago they stopped and failed to notify Booking.com that the information was incorrect. I don't really care about breakfast except when I am skiing because I like to eat early and then get to the mountain early. Overall it was a good stay but consider the lack of communication an issue. I would probably look elsewhere when returning to Beech...
Read moreOlder, european-style hotel with a bar and Pizzeria inside. The Pizza is VERY good!||||Rooms & decor is rather dated but the beds are comfortable if a bit firm. Heat is via wall units which do a VERY good job of keeping the room toasty. ||||Shower heads are rather low @ around 5'4" so @ 5'10" I had to duck down to wash my hair. Controls for the showers are separate hot and cold which can be difficult to manipulate to a single temp, Being an older hotel others water useage affects yours so although I was able to set a temp, it changed within a few minutes.||||They DO provide wireless internet but it was basically useless as the speed was little more than dial-up. I could check FaceBook and maybe an eMail or two bit don't plan on doing any browsing or even extensive work online. The main Weather Channel website took over 2 minutes to load and that is normally instantaneous on most High-Speed wireless systems these days.||||Our room was slopeside for $119/night on a peak weekend (Fri & Sat nights) which was reasonable considering others are $150-$200/night and many of those are 15-20 minutes away from...
