I stayed at This hotel over Labor Day weekend. I was impressed by the size of the pool area and the ample seating. It was not being utilized, however, much to my surprise. It is probably the nicest pool I have ever seen at a hotel. The hot tub and sauna were both functioning well. Our room was clean, and the refrigerator was plugged in which I appreciate. The climate control in the room worked well. The front desk lady was nice despite arriving at 10:30 PM. Now for the negative. For the breakfast area being large, The actual counter was very small. For the amount of people that the area holds there was nowhere near enough food out at any given time. The way the food was laid out Caused a big line and confusion of which way people were going. I was happy with the overall quality and variety of food so it is a shame that I have to bring down the review of this. I overheard one of the patrons talking to the meal prepper and he was saying it takes 45 minutes to bring out each serving of whatever side he had. This seems excessive and I’m sure there is a way for it to be streamlined. I do understand it was a holiday weekend, but since the breakfast area was nowhere near capacity, it seemed odd for them to be constantly running out of stuff. Almost like it was being done purposely so people would leave. I have been to between 20-25 hotels across the US, and I have never seen the breakfast manager take food away at the strike of 9:00 (end of breakfast time) Usually, Food is actively being prepared for the entire breakfast time slot, But when breakfast is over, everything that is currently out is left and no new food is made. I would not expect them to prepare new food after the time. But at this place, Which was a first for me, the breakfast guy rudely slammed the doors (So much so that the room fell silent for a few seconds) And began immediately bringing food that was still sitting out into the back. This begs the question if they are going to serve the leftovers the next day? Or were they just going to throw it all away, I doubt it. Luckily, I got in there about an hour before it closed but Some people that came shortly after me did not get any hot food. I would be Extremely unhappy if I had paid so much money for a hotel and then been denied breakfast. In my opinion, they should at least extend the breakfast time an hour over a holiday weekend to the normal weekend hours. Being a local, I can understand the exhaustion from tourists But I can’t help but think that they were intentionally only putting out a little bit of food at a time to get people to leave. If the hotel was at capacity, I would’ve fully understood, but since it was nowhere near that, I think it is just poorly run. Unfortunately, I won’t...
Read moreAs a loyal guest for 4+ years, especially the pool with my daughters and relatives, I was very dissapointed in the representation of the hotel. Her name is Betsy at the front desk. She was so rude and uncomfortable that I will no longer bring my family there to enjoy the great qualities of AmericInn which we have so much enjoyed. She ignored my family for 10 minutes after walking in while on the phone with another customer as we patiently waited for service. Not even a recognition as little as a smile, which everyone knows goes a long way. Then when she got off the phone, she pointed to the gentleman behind us and said she would help him. He stated to her that we were here first and all Betsy said was "I'll get them next" while CONTINUING to ignore us. I felt embarrassed and completely unwelcone. Here I am with my 2 young girls who are begging to go swimming as our arms are full with floaties and such. That was so uncalled for. After finally getting helped, we ignored the rude woman's words and just continued to have a great family night. Then, she crossed the line. After we were packing up to leave, she came into the pool area and rudely commented that we are not allowed to have food in the pool area and that there's a sign "anyone can read" stating that. The food we had was for our 1 year old daughter. We made no mess and always respect the area we use. Anyone with kids knows that you always have to be prepared with snacks and such with young children. After that, she proceeded to tell my girls and I that we need to stop using their towels and get our own because they are for "paying guests only" while looking at my 7 year old who had a towel wrapped around her. My daughter looked at me and was immediately embarrassed. Now, didn't my family and I just pay to swim? Doesn't that make us a guest? All the years at your establishment, I've never been yelled at for the towels. That's like saying we can't sit at the tables in the pool area. All my 14 years in customer service, I have never witnessed such insensitive and rude hospitality. Please, consider higher quality employees before others get hurt and upset on a fun...
Read moreI have stayed here for 4 night stays (Mon-Fri, my work week) several times. Staff is friendly and check in is fast (with a reservation), and they also have accommodated some special requests. I can't comment on the breakfast because I leave for work way before it is served at 6am. There is an instant/infinite coffee maker in the lobby to fill up your giant travel mug anytime you want. The pool looks nice too, but I have not used it either. This might sound like a little thing, but I appreciate the heat/AC unit that has a setting for constant fan, to create white noise. Most places have a fan only setting, but few have a fan mode that stays on while in heating or cooling mode. The rooms I have stayed in were clean and have comfortable beds. The mini-fridge and microwave are great to keep leftovers or non-restaurant food around. (I travel about 80% for work, so it's nice to just make a ham sammich or something instead of always eating out, you know?) The reason for 4/5 stars is the other people staying here that staff does not have control over. Smokers hang out by the doors, so there is usually a cloud of smoke or odor to push through. Smokers then take the odor along back to their room. Even in this no smoking hotel, you will occasionally get a smelly room, and it takes time to get rid of it. It isn't like someone just smoked in there, but more like their jacket is still lying around. There are also a few video gambling machines in the lobby that attract people from the outside. I would guess they make too much money to get rid of...
