They are definitely having freshness issues! I returned some chess nuts because they were all moldy green inside. Today the acorn squash I bought only two days ago there is suddenly fuzzy all over. and if you can smell fish walking through the seafood department it is not fresh! Definitely sliding downhill. I suspect a change in management a while back is the culprit!
Update January 14th 2021. after years of loyalty to festival because of their boomerang policy, I was disappointed again today. Festival was one of the few stores that I could go into and not immediately get the third degree at the door. Unfortunately, that ended today. I told the guy I had just had it with having to go through this every freaking time I walked through a store and I saw festival as a respite from that. after 20 minutes of giving him every scientific fact I had and the universities and hospitals that put that information out, he tried to stay polite, but just kept saying over and over about how he needed to make sure we knew the policy. Seriously? After months and months of this crap?
Update 1-23 2022. One thing I love about festival is that you can get so many different things there. But g, walk through the front door and the first thing I can smell is fish all the way from the back of the store again.....
Update 10/2/2025--okay I'm turning into Old tired hurting fart. I miss what used to be. It used to be there was some young person in the main aisle area who would help me lift that whole case of water on the belt. Today I almost dropped the whole thing trying to get it up there. I thought that they could just put the scanner over the water in the cart. I thought they used to do that too. Or keep a cheat sheet of scans for common items like this, especially when on sale. But no. This means that I really can't go shopping for anything large unless I bring some beef with me. Not so easy to spend my...
Read moreI would like to suggest something. I was at your store last Thursday night. I was satisfied five star on how you treated me. But there was a lady at the checkout next to me. You only had one check out and you had to bag your own. She was an older lady probably in her 80s who had a full shopping cart. She checked out and started herself packing her groceries. I was already done with mine so I asked if she needed help she said if you could, I would appreciate it. Helped her out and then she took her full cart out to the parking lot. Handicap parking. She started unpacking her shopping cart and I said something to the gentleman next to me. He went back I followed and we helped her pack her car. My suggestion is the checkout person should call someone up. They help people like this pack and put the things in the car. They would greatly appreciate something like this. I love your store. But sometimes you have to step forward and help some people out....
Read moreFestival is simply overpriced compared to any other grocery store in Green Bay. Pick n Save, Woodmans, Hyvee, Costco, and Aldi are definitely a better option. Most of the time Aldi specifically has healthier options in general such as cereals without food dyes, meats without MSG, etc for a fraction of the price. With that being said, Festival is more convenient as it's closer to me. I was going to spend close to $1,000 with them for a small catering event and whoever is in charge of that department was extremely rude saying they could not help me and a 48 hour notice was mandatory- it was about 35 hours or so in advance. Nonetheless I was assisted by another facility who would accommodate me and was very polite. Moral of the story - very rude workers at festival - go to any other store and get quality food for less money, it's worth the trip to go...
