Every hotel has pros and cons, this particular stay had mostly cons but we chose this location because the reviews were actually pretty decent. Pros: clean, affordable, convenient location with restaurants and shopping, spacious rooms with a microwave and a mini fridge. Cons: Upon arrival the area seems like a nice neighborhood, but the woman standing outside & walking around looked sketchy and the people who were staying there weren’t any better. Staff at check in and check out weren’t friendly. The air conditioner was very loud so we turned it on long enough to get the room cool and turned it back off. Rooms are not sound proof, not even a little (I hardly hear anything at other places I’ve stay). I could hear a woman coughing and doors opening and closing all night. The curtains are not really thick or blacked out so once the sun is up, the room is fully bright. The bed was not the most comfortable but who can sleep with all the noise and sunlight.
My biggest issue was booking this stay on hotels.com as I have always booked all of my rooms. I did a few comparisons before I committed to Motel 6. When I finally decided to proceed, the booking reset the occupants to just me instead of myself and my husband. I accumulated rewards for previous stays so I assumed the low price was from applying my rewards. I didn’t realize this because at check in the woman never mentioned it or brought it up to myself or my husband when we both checked in together. It was only brought up by the gentleman who checked us out when we asked for our deposit back that was paid for in cash. He immediately said they charge by the number of occupants and I only reserved 1 but there were 2 of us. I explained to him that I made the reservation on hotels.com and if that was the case, the woman at check in should have notified me and we would have gladly paid the difference. Not once did he ask us how our stay was. Not once did he ask if everything was okay with the room. He was only worried about sending another woman to the room to make sure we didn’t damage it and feeling like we cheated him out of charging another person so he could keep our deposit. Again, had this been explained to us, we would’ve gladly taken care of it from the beginning. There’s no need to be rude and unprofessional to guests who are paying to stay at your establishment. All in all for the discounted price we paid to spend less than 12 hours in this room, was okay bc we just needed a place to sleep and shower. I would not and will not stay at this...
Read moreFor starters they don't have do not disturb signs. I asked. They want to be in your room daily. The heater only works from about 6pm to 9am. Otherwise it just blows cool air. The a/c is old and rattles and is loud. You have to pay $2.99 a day for wifi and the codes change every 24 hours. When you do pay for wifi, it's horrible. I couldn't load a thing. The beds are not queen sized they are full sized. The rooms are much smaller than they appear. The rooms stink. The fridge freezes everything or doesn't cool at all. No coffee maker in the room at all. No breakfast at the hotel, just loud vending machines. The beds made my back hurt because they might as well been as soft as a deflating air mattress. The male manager has to be in the know of who goes and who stays. He's a very nosy man. The TV cuts in and out. You don't get most channels. At 8 am you can hear everyone leaving or cleaning just outside your room and because they don't have do not disturb signs, they knock anyway. Regardless of the tossing turning sleep you've had all night. And if you stay during the day you'll have no heat until the evening. If you're out, and they clean your room they turn your heat all the way down. The hot water in the bathroom sink was turned off. Only the shower got hot. Fighting drug people got moved in right next to us and you could hear every word they said, down to threatening each other and him slapping her. The people behind the desk are rude. First they barely know English but then they always say no. To everything. No extra towels, no extra blankets just no. It was a horrible stay. The pics looked nice and the amenities looked ok and it was close to family but that was in the internet. Once you get there you realize you have no privacy and all the above. We spent $350 for a week here and never was given coffee without having to go down the street to get it. Never had a day they didn't ask if we needed room service even though we did not. We needed extra blankets because Texas had an extra cold front come in but we're told no. No bags over their shotty mattresses and the coverlets we're not changed. The bottom floor window opens up the whole way open and was unlocked every day without our knowledge. Construction made it almost impossible to reach. Oh and the best part of waking up? Was the construction that started at 7 with the jack hammering. I will tell every neighbor, friend and family member about this hotel and I hope they tell everyone they know. It's false advertising and they know it. ||||One...
Read moreI stayed from 7/29/2024 - 8/6/2024. This is one of the worst Motel sixes I have stayed at it has the appearance of looking clean and nice from the website pictures and lobby, Unfortunately, it is much worse than it may appear. Roaches and earwigs ran around the floors constantly there was no way to keep the water in the shower when taking a shower so that attracted more bugs. The toilet was disgusting and the sink didn’t drain or fill fast at all. The staff complained consistently about giving you more towels, more blankets and more bedding and I quote “ We do not change the bedsheets and towels for customers every day”. When they do give you New bedding and towels, most of them have stains on them from the previous Tenants. Being that it says it’s a Pet friendly hotel, you would think you can leave your pets in the room when going out, that’s not the case. The staff will call you and complain if your dog or cat makes any noise and tell you to come back immediately Therefore, ruining the experience of you staying there because you can’t go out without somebody staying back or the hotel calling and complaining. Also good luck getting your pet deposit back because they will make up an excuse to keep that money. On top of that the management and staff were very rude, objective and definitely have a staring problem. I was very disrespected by one of the cleaning ladies and one of the front desk women, There were multiple times where my wife felt very uncomfortable with staying here because of some of the male staff. The police called 2 to 3 times during our stay they were constantly police cars out front of the building because of some certain scenario. one the nights the police even knocked on every single door in the hotel because they couldn’t figure out who Called 911. Sounds like they really had things “under control”. So I suggest, if you have someone that has a life-threatening condition to not stay here either because they probably won’t be able to figure out which room you’re in to help you. When they say that they’re going to charge you a certain rate on the website you will immediately have to pay at least 100 to almost 200 dollars depending on how much your stay is for “city tax”. So don’t trust the prices on the website either. All this to be said there are plenty of good people that work here and there are good parts about this area that are cool to check out, but all in all I recommend you stay somewhere...
