I decided to give this place another try after LOVING the ramen I had picked up. I dined in this time, and I want to note before I write this review that I am in no way trying to be mean or hateful, I’m giving an honest review in hopes that there will be improvements. I am willing to change my review later on if so.
I walked in, the atmosphere is beautiful as always, there are these neat little crafts inside the glass where you sit, but unfortunately that glass has all types of finger prints on it. And it wasn’t just a few, it looks likes days worth of fingerprints, it looks like children got into candy and then touched the glass.
I ordered the Tonkatsu ramen, which is what I had gotten last time that was really good. Unfortunately no options for spice other than sriracha, which was okay. I’m not going to bash the store for that. The ramen wasn’t great. There was so much seaweed it was unbelievable. Don’t get me wrong, I love seaweed in my ramen but there was SO MUCH it made it taste like I was eating out of a fish bowl. I spent about 2 minutes just picking it all out, which was enough to cover my entire napkin. The bamboo had a really gross flavor, the eggs were actually pretty good, and the pork wasn’t bad but I’ve had a lot better. The broth was pretty bland, and usually if all else fails, your broth should be tasty. The noodles were a bit overcooked. The presentation wasn’t really great either, certainly nothing like any of the pictures or from the reviews already on here. Just a mess overall. You would think with the title being Sakura Sushi AND RAMEN, that ramen would be just as important as the sushi. But the ramen tastes and was presented like it was cooked by someone who doesn’t know how to make it. And there’s only 3 main options with not much customization.
Overall, my experience wasn’t great. I came alone so it’s not like serving one person is incredibly hard, but she did good. Checked on me multiple times, made sure I was taken care of. No complaints there
Like I said, I’m not writing this review to bash the restaurant. I’m writing this because previously I’ve had good experiences, and it seems like things got worse. Looking forward to improvements in...
Read moreEXTREMLEY sad to find out that my absolute FAVORITE sushi spot in dfw has i guess in the last few weeks changed ownership again and got rid of the only 2 reasons this restaurant was good, the absolutely killer sushi chef who made this once extremely good sushi is now gone! ive been going here at least one to 2 times a week for MONTHES, if not more to enjoy the incredible deal on wonderful tasting sushi, NOW EVERYTHING YOU THOUGHT YOU LOVED ABOUT THIS PLACE IS GONE!! the food looks entirely different, and it takes about 3x longer to come out even in an empty restaurant, i completely demolish alll the rolls i ordered and could barley be forced to finish this new version. The wonderful waiter is also gone now too, BASICALLY if you dont see that cool tesla out front anymore just know your food is gunna taste 10x worse and service 30x slower! Super sad i cant tell everyone about this place anymore. basically all these awesome reviews and awesome pictures of food in the reviews are now obsolete! i dont even write reviews and this one absolutely hurt to find out lol. This was 3/7/2025, i didnt even take pictures because of how bad it was, i have TONS of wonderful pics and my heart dropped as soon as the hibachi fried rice i ordered came out with tough overcooked shrimp drowning in sauce and side of white rice lol.
Not really any improvements to be made. Other than doing whatever you can do to get that previous Sushi Chef and Waitress back ASAP or else this place will continue on with its curse of constantly changing business ideas and foods, very sad to see this drastic change in quality over just...
Read moreI took my mother and brother out to dinner here this evening and the food was amazing! The service on the other hand was honestly some of the worst service I've ever received.. I'm assuming they get a lot of DoorDash or Uber orders because the one waitress that was working seemed to have her hands full with that and not taking care of the dining room customers. We sat down and waiting at least 5 minutes until she took our drink orders and another 5 for the drinks (in an empty restaurant) When we asked about the all you can eat she seemed very upset but was accommodating to my autistic brother who doesn't eat fish and let him get the hibachi while my mother and I enjoyed the all you can eat.. I had a question about the menu and asked her politely when she was finished with a customer I had a question for her and she rolled her eyes, didn't say anything, and walked away.. I'm sorry but if I'm paying $100 for 3 people to eat I would expect better customer service. The cook was very nice and full of personality and even came to the front to help the waitress when she got overwhelmed with online orders. A couple came in after us and we exchanged words about the service to which we agreed could be a lot better.. a family of four walked in and sat down then left after a few minutes of no service. Overall I'd eat here again but probably just get take out to avoid the unnecessary attitude of...
