Update......not sure what park management is referring to but our only interactions with them are what is detailed below and they haven't addressed any of the concerns raised. This really can be a nice park again once they are gone. ------------+---------------- We stayed at Butterfield last year and returned this year as we had a great time and loved the park and the people we met. This year we are reviewing it again due to a new huge negative.....the current management.
Our first introduction to management was shortly after we arrived. I paid the $20 fee and properly displayed the permit for washing our camper. As I was washing the back, a woman on a red golf cart came racing across our neighbor's site and aggressively demanded "are you washing your camper?". As I assumed the soapy camper and the hose answered that question, I replied "Did the permit fall down?". She responded.. "So you have a permit?". "Yes, it is displayed at the front of my site." "Oh, I didn't check.". No apology, no explanation for why she was so aggressive; she just drove off....I came to find out later this is the new manager Tammy
Our next experience was when heading to Coffee and Donuts one morning. On our way there, a woman accosted my wife demanding to know her name. She replied "MaryAnne" at which point the woman further demanded "What's your last name?". She told her and asked why she wanted to know; the reply was "I've seen you around and didn't know your name". Maybe I'm old fashioned but I always thought if you wanted to meet someone it is polite to introduce yourself and then ask their name. After this encounter she simply rushed off.
While we were having coffee and donuts, this same woman started making announcements and we came to learn she is the Activities Director Vicky. The strangeness from her continued as she launched into a scolding rant that I still have no clue as to what it was about....other than it had nothing to do with us. The only comment she made that stuck with me was "If you have anything bad to say you better do it behind my back!"... weird!
These are just two personal interactions we had with them; there are many others our friends experienced that I won't record here. Aggressive and unreasonable management is a huge negative for me in any RV park...it sucks the enjoyment out of anything else the park may have to offer
Beyond management's lack of professionalism, park maintenance is sorely lacking. The pool table is damaged as to be unusable, when we tried to move our picnic table, it almost fell apart and the "dog parks" are actually litter boxes and smell like it. The bottom line is the current management has made Butterfield a very uncomfortable and less enjoyable place to be. If you are not bothered by incessant train horns blasting 24x7, you might enjoy a short visit with no management interaction. However, there are plenty of other campgrounds in the area that are more pleasant, cheaper and quieter so I don't know why anyone would bother with this one. We will...
Read moreThis year is our third trip to Butterfield RV Park. Our first year we were passing through and stayed for a week and a half. Our next trip we stayed the months of November and December. We met many good people who we feel are like family. This year we came back as Activity Directors. We have loved everything about being Activity Directors. It was a lot of work but we had the best team of people to help us. The Managers were great to work for and Tammy and I worked well together. She and Jeff are always up beat and so kind and encouraging to us all. I have worked for many people but by far she is one of the greatest managers I have ever had the privilege of working with. She and Jeff are always available to the guests at the park. You can tell they were great manages at their last park because many of the people from there came here either to work or visit. All had great things to say about Jeff and Tammy. Our team really enjoyed creating and hosting all of the things we did, ie dances, explorers days, breakfasts and much more. The Managers followed the rules and expected the rules to be followed by our guests. However both Jeff and Tammy went out of their way to help people and again were very kind and open to talking with anyone. There were a few people who self eliminated from the park because they wanted to run the show. After they left things seemed to become more positive and most people seemed glad for the change. I have seen where negativity can be a very destructive force. I for one don’t feel that here at Butterfield any longer. I really like the atmosphere now. We are looking forward to coming back to Butterfield next year in the roles of Activities Directors and are very excited for the opportunity to return. We will be thinking about how we can provide a wonderful variety of activities for the park next year. Thank you all and enjoy your summer. Thank you Butterfield we...

Just to let you know they're really not many views inside the park you can't really see the mountains or anything like that but in three minutes from your trailer to Starbucks inside Safeway so it's convenient and it's a half a block from Benson Community Hospital which is a great hospital so there's a lot of places here not my kind of place but I like things more Scenic with views and I like to see a little bit more Landscaping personally for myself but if you're elderly and you willing to pay the higher fees this is probably...
