Had to move to a different room because the first room had this loud hum which gave my husband a massive headache in 5 minutes. Night clerk said it was the fan in a room downstairs. Would not help us beyond getting another key card (first room also was missing a microwave, and my husband said the towel rack in the bathroom was BROKEN). Second room was better, but the screws for the door safety latch bar seemed to be loose -- anyone with strength might have been able to force their way in! Some car was parked below us near the staircase diagonally across two spaces and the clerk did nothing about that -- it was still there in the morning (another car, also somewhat badly parked and closer to the stairs was gone in the morning). Some woman saw me taking photos of the car (which had a temporary plate) and said that the guys on either side of her seemed to be partying (I think that at least one of the guys outside when we were unloading from across the parking lot was connected with at least one of the badly parked cars). She also said someone knocked on her door (she was apparently downstairs from us) and said the noise was NOT coming from her room!) but she was too scared to answer. She ALSO said that she got charged for a WEEK instead of just one night and to check our credit card statement like a hawk! Only good thing the night clerk did was to get us plastic utensils, since we had leftovers from someplace we'd stopped for dinner in NYS earlier in the evening. Oh, and the "free breakfast"? Didn't exist.... We had to go down the road into Bethel proper to find places to get breakfast. NOT the standards I expect from a Wyndham property at ALL....
Edit: I just got a notification (on my PHONE no less) that someone liked the first photo -- the one of the little plaque on the counter in the room. I'm now wondering if the person who liked it realized that I posted that photo because of the IRONY of what the chain/location/Wyndham Corporate was claiming vs. our ACTUAL...
Read moreI've been staying here for for lodging for fishing trips for a number of years now. In my opinion it has really gone downhill. Not sure if there's new ownership or whatever but recently I stayed there there and was extremely disappointed with the ownership. I was given a room (room 123) that was filled with mold and mildew. The entire bathroom, was in obvious need of renovation. There was mildew all over the walls around the shower in all parts of the bathroom and due to obvious moisture issues it was starting to spill out into the main living room bedroom where you would sleep. The tv remote was filthy, alarm clock didn't work and neither did the room phone when I called the front desk to complain. I expressed my concern of switching Rooms to the front desk but there was no other vacancy at the hotel. I didn't discover this till about 9:30 at night after checking in late from fishing. It was too late to switch over to another hotel and I was hooked up to a boat that was plugged in so I decided to stay. The front desk initially had offered me a refund but I was told in order to receive any sort of refund I had to leave immediately. Because of my limited options I chose to stay. I walked out of the office annoyed and back to my room. The manager then came and knocked on my door. I showed him all of the obvious mold mildew.. He recognized that it existed and said they would take it down and renovate based on my complaint but he didn't plan on doing anything for me that night. He told me I could leave if I wanted to. He cited that nobody's ever complained about it before. It was baffling like it was something that was acceptable at a $130 per night. He got super aggressive and seemed offended that I would even point it out .as being inconvenient. It was really disappointing how the matter...
Read morePhysically there was nothing wrong and the room was very comfortable. I was in the area visiting Newtown, Connecticut. Everything was clean and comfortable and went fine overnight. In the morning, I was not done with the room and went to Newtown to conduct my business. I had a bad feeling about the place because it is run by a foreigner and so I removed my video equipment, laptop and other stuff, leaving only some food and drink which I intended to consume later. There were two pot pies, some bananas and a bottle of Mountain Dew (2 liter). After returning from Newtown, I went into the room only to find my lunch gone, and it did not take long to figure out who had stolen it. There were two maids, obviously illegal aliens, who had stolen the Mountain Dew and either they drank it or more likely poured it out. They also stole the other items. When I complained to the manager, he offered me only a can of sprite to replace the two liter. I got most of the food back but there was a missing pot pie that I had bought. The maids had eaten it apparently and denied ever seeing it. They were caught red handed stealing my stuff and should have been fired on the spot. They still have their jobs. Contacting Days Inn and Wyndham resorts was futile. I just got to talk to foreigners and I waited and waited on hold and no one picked up. Do NOT stay at any Wyndham hotels (Days inn is a part of the chain). I am so glad I did not leave my laptop or video equipment there or those sticky fingered maids would have stolen them too. That manager and the maids both deserve to be fired immediately but I can get no cooperation...
