We arrived on July 5th, right after the holiday. All of Big Bear had been overrun with tourists. The following week was ok, short lines, not much traffic. The Noon Lodge was trying to catch up. The pool needed cleaning the day we arrived, but was clean the following day. The wifi was offline, but they rebooted it when we asked. ||||The cabins are different sizes, and we were surprised to find ours had a full fridge, and stove. It also had a small microwave. There are three large gas barbecues on a first come first serve basis on the grounds. The BBQ’s did not have accurate temperature gauges, so check your food frequently. The picnic tables and chairs were nice. ||||There were several fire pits and we made smores a couple of times. The staff lights the fires around sunset each night.||||Note that this is a redone old lodge. The water temp drifted slowly up in the shower and could get quite hot. There is no air conditioning, but even though the temperature was in the high 80s most days, it was comfortable at night. There are old school gas heaters, which look like cold swimmers and skiers would really like. ||||There are adult sized bikes which you can borrow. Often you can borrow a kayak, but the water level was too low when we visited. Next to the pool is a bocci ball area. ||||Pretty much all of Big Bear is within a few minutes of the lodge. We ate at the Country Kitchen a couple of times. If you have kids, there is plenty to do. The Visitor Center told us about a scavenger hunt called Urban Adventure Quest, which is in many cities including Big Bear. It costs $30 total for a group of 2-4 and takes 1 to 1.5 hours of walking and problem solving near downtown. ||||Overall, we like the place and...
Read moreSuper cute place nestled in the trees on a quiet, dead end street just minutes from town. Jesus is friendly and accommodating; he lives on site and makes sure everyone is comfortable and taken care of. They provide you with a number to call or text if you need anything or have questions. I love that they play music all day on the outdoor speakers!! It gives the place even more life than it has already. It’s not loud at all, it’s relaxing and they turn it off by 10 pm. There’s multiple gas grills and fire pit sitting areas on site, along with corn hole and bocce ball. Nice ambiance in the evening under the lights while looking out into the canal that leads to the lake. In the main outdoor area of the cabins there’s a family style table and an outdoor fireplace. Great spot to stargaze! Grounds are well maintained. The pool was clean and towels are supplied. We stayed in the studio (smallest room) because our Airbnb turned into a disaster and we were desperate to get out quickly. It ended up being pretty comfortable considering how small it was. The rooms and bathrooms are super clean and they supply you with towels, hand towels, wash cloths, shower gel, bar soap, shampoo, and conditioner. The studio has a TV w/ Roku, fireplace, mini fridge, coffee cups, wine glasses, wine opener, a coffee maker, sugar, cream and stirrers. The only minor complaints I had were that there was no shelf in the shower to put your stuff on and the bed was a bit stiff. At least the bed linens were super clean and comfy! Your stay includes free bike and canoe rentals so be sure to take advantage of those! We had a great time on the canoe. Overall, we had a wonderful, comfortable stay at Noon Lodge and will definitely stay again...
Read moreOur women's motorcycle riding group rented out the 3 group cabins (8, 10 & 11) and had a wonderful time! There was plenty of paved parking to fit 4 bikes to one spot. Lots of outdoor gathering spaces with beautiful landscaping and trees in bloom in May. There were 2 brand new gas grills and the picnic tables were great for dinner at night. Gas fire pits are sprinkled throughout the property so that everyone could claim a space. I love that they light all the gas grills at sunset to set the ambiance. The property is right on the water and we enjoyed taking out the canoes for a paddle through the cove and watching the sunset. Cabin 10's showers are the smallest of the 3 cabins, but nothing like what I imagined after reading some reviews. They are regular stall sized showers, quality toiletries and super clean. Cabin 8 & Cabin 11's showers are larger if you care about that. Cabin 10 has an upper deck off the upstairs bedroom that has a great view and there's also a lower deck with adirondack chairs for morning coffee. Cabin 8 also has a lower deck with chairs. Cabin 10 & 8 are closest to the water. The bunkbed in Cabin 10 is in an open loft area. You will need to walk through the loft (bunkbed area) to use the upstairs bathroom or to access the stairs to go downstairs. Cabin 8 & 11 have more enclosed rooms upstairs. Each of the bedrooms had a fan and screens on the windows, which was helpful to get the air circulating. Customer service was impeccable! With our group of 20 ladies, Jesus responded quickly to texts when we wanted to take out the canoes, was patient and ever ready...
