Country Kitchen Restaurant — Restaurant in Big Bear Lake

A little disappointed, had higher expectations for this place. I had french toast that was so cold the butter wouldn't melt and it appeared they used actual small French bread (nothing wrong with that) but it was the small end of the bread and only three pieces, the largest was about 2" × 3", also very undercooked and mushy. One of my eggs looked like it hat been sitting for awhile, I asked for medium eggs and one was over cooked and mutilated, the yolk hard and transparent. I had a salad and asked for blue cheese dressing and it was creamy Italian with about 2 pieces of blue cheese (I think). Kids Mac and cheese was kraft out of the box. Husband's hash browns were supposed to be seasoned and were not and undercooked. The waiter was very nice and did a wonderful job but the food was mediocre. Chicken salad had dry chicken on iceberg, iceberg is for a small dinner salad not a large salad. I won't go again. It was mother's day so they may have been busy early in the morning. We were a party of 7 and when we came in a lady said she would be with us in a moment so we sat by the door. Another party came in and she took them right away to a table. Tonight on Halloween 10-31-19, we had a blonde waitress named Kathy. She is not the friendliest person, you have to force a smile out of her. She also was defending that phony manager Janet that works at Denny's. I don't care for that Janet lady at all. I stopped eating at Denny's because of her and the food isn't that good anyway. This girl at Country Kitchen was sticking up for this Janet lady. There's no way I would ever like that phony lady and she has no excuse to be that way. Honestly the blonde girl at Country Kitchen should be working at Denny's, she has the perfect demeanor to be there. Sorry for being so honest! I would like to compliment the female cook tonight, she cooks very good! :-) For the music, please play ANY music but country or western. That is the worst music ever and can spoil someone's meal. Not organised at all: went there around 8:20am-ordered 9:00am after numerous times requesting-coffee came cold at 9:20! The "manager" is very bossy and talks down to employees. Tell them how to do the job but she cant take an order! I believe shr had a nail salon previously and she doesnt know how to run a restaurant. Completely different paths. It is cash only establishment and they are VERY WELL prepared for it- they have installed an ATM machine inside with high commission and dont seem to care for employees tips. If you wanna open at 8:00am have everything ready BEFORE you open. They started making coffee at 8:45am. We sat first and we were the last to place our order! Food way overpriced-trust me- and no taste. I had the smallest 3 egg omellette for $17.69+tax! Totally not worthy and tasteless. Save your self from this esrablishment and go somewhere else. Its only about the money...
