Star Inn Biloxi — Hotel in Biloxi

This hotel is a nightmare. I’ll start with the rooms. My bestfriend and her boyfriend booked a room, mind you these rooms were 80 dollars per room - and it had no AC. They immediately needed a different room. Both of our rooms smelled super strongly of mildew, my blankets smelled like human must- like someone had literally put their armpits all over the blankets. Hair in the sheets. Hair and cigarette burns everywhere. Now at the time, we didn’t know this place was one of “those” hotels. We genuinely thought it was gonna be a nice hotel. Now I’ll talk about the 20 dollar deposit fee. Upon checking in, I didn’t realize I needed cash - I didn’t argue with the clerk at the desk, he even joked with me about my job, was very kind and INSISTED he could take my credit card if I didn’t have cash. So the next morning at 10:30 I go to check out, it’s a woman at the desk this time. As SOON as I tell her that I had a credit deposit, she started getting heated with me. “No deposit no deposit see on my receipt?” She even threw me her long list of receipts so I could see for myself. I was already late for work and frankly had never been confronted with a situation like this, I was panicking. I was so patient with her while she raised her voice and insisted that I basically didn’t pay my deposit. She even CALLED the guy who took my credit card the night before and he DENIED THE ENTIRE THING AS I SPOKE ON THE PHONE WITH HIM! “No no no remember Maam only cash deposit remember no no no.” I thought I was losing my mind, genuinely. The lady kept incessantly asking for my credit card, which I eventually gave because I didn’t want the police called or something. But the point of a deposit, is that you get it back. She was trying to take 20 more dollars from me as I left. I was called a liar and had my credit card charged for an employees mistake, TWICE which he blatantly denied. Please, book a MOTEL 6 ITS...

We booked a room here because Travelocity rated it a 7.3 out of 10. Google rated it 4.3 out of 5. This hotel is WAY OVERRATED! Wish we had READ the reviews. They are conveniently located and the price is reasonable compared to other hotels nearby. They have a check-out of 10 a.m., with check-in a 4 p.m. We stopped by at 8:30 a.m. to see if we could check earlier than 4. The man at the counter said we could check-in at 2, but any earlier we'd be charged a $20 early check-in fee. When we came back to check-in at 2:30, a black woman, who didn't speak english very well, started yelling at me, telling me that I couldn't check-in until 4. I asked to see a manager, and she called her and the manager did tell her that we could check-in early. The woman then proceeded to check-in 2 black women who had just showed up without a reservation and she gave them a room at 2:35 p.m. I had a prepaid reservation thru Travelocity. She then checked me in. She never spoke to me. She is very racist against caucasians. VERY RUDE! Checked in people with no reservation and yelled at customers that did. Room was okay. Very small. We had linoleum wood grain floors that were filthy! Our feet were covered with sand that we had to brush off to get into bed or after our showers when we put socks & shoes on. As long as they have this rude, racist woman at their front desk checking in their guests, I could never recomment this property or stay here again. Their are many reviews that mention her, but the owners don't care and continue to employ her. We travel a lot and this is the rudest customer service I have ever experienced! Our reservation was for 4 people, but only 2 towels were...

Clean but dated and im need of basic replacment items like the handles on the tub and the tub itself...it had a hole that was not the drain hole in it lettung water run onto the floor. The staff that checked me in, whom I believe was the owner, was great. The man that worked overnight was great. The lady that was there at checkout was rude as all get out. My wife had walked ro the store while I was securing items on my truck. I finished before mu wife rwturned so I drove to get her. When I got back, 2 minutes later, she was yelling at me from the office window. I stopped anfd got out to see what was wrong, thinking she needed help. Turns out she was letting me know I was not welcome on the property because I had checked out. I explained the situation and that I was was now looking to see if my wife had walked behind the bkdg...which she had I later found out. So the lady then tells me that she was calling the police and I has better go. I am a 2o year retired Army vet. I am not a criminal. I was humiliated by this event. It was very unprofessional and didn't give me the impression they cared about recommendations, reputations, or Google reuiews. Oh, the crew that does maintenance and cleaning were just wonderful and pleasant. It is ashame that 1 person ruined the whole experience. They must have plenty of money because they let this lady make sure they won't get any of mine again. To everyone else, thanks and sorry she is...
