Sometimes you're just limited to five stars even when the restaurant should have 7 or 8. This is one of those restaurants. Each part of this event, and it truly is an event to eat here, was served very well by our waiter Chris. At this restaurant, you don't just have steak, you have a steak paired with special vegetables and side dishes that are mixed and mingled together. Who could believe that brussel sprouts could be prepared so well with other vegetables and seasonings that were amazing as a side dish to the main entree. We were there for an anniversary celebration and all four of us ordered appetizers such as steak tartare or a fish tartare. They also had terrific wine and liquor and beer selections including some non-alcohol. I enjoyed a swordfish schnitzel with a type of German mashed potatoes that was excellent as my entree. The chef stopped by our table to make sure everything was to our liking in addition to our waiter. Nothing about the entrees that we had, the appetizers we enjoyed or the side dishes that were selected to go with the entree were ordinary. All of them were masterfully created for an excellent meal. Even the menus were created special for us, saying happy anniversary at the top. The facility itself is nicely laid out with separate rooms for special occasions, some more private than others. All of the service was excellent. You could say that this restaurant is for special occasions but it is a nice place I think just to stop by after work for a relaxing beverage with a friend or coworker. And actually for the quality of food that we received it was surprisingly reasonable pricing. I've eaten and reviewed a lot of very nice restaurants, but not many had this quality of food. You have to weigh the quality and the price and the atmosphere and the service you receive. In my opinion, this restaurant is in the top on all categories and is an excellent value. If you want a culinary treat, this is the...
Read moreI had to take a moment or two to let everyone know about this amazing restaurant on the coast! We have eaten there a number of times and loved the food, atmosphere and entire experience. But a few months ago, we held my daughter’s baby shower there. It was an especially important thing for her because she had wanted a baby for so long and had experienced several heartbreaking miscarriages due to a blood clotting factor she didn’t know she had until she went to a high-risk OB who quickly discovered it and treated her for that resulting in a successful pregnancy. We were over the moon, and wanted this to be extra special. The owners and staff could not have made it more so! They reserved a beautiful room to accommodate our large number of guests and Chef Sumrall created a special menu, with several options that included something for every palate, including a vegetarian option, and amazing dessert. The waiters and waitresses were extremely attentive and took time to explain the menu and ask for any special needs or allergies, then took a moment with each of those folks to be sure their order was just right. The food was divine, and my daughter was just ecstatic with the day. I know she will always remember it as one of the most special moments about this time of her life. I am so thankful to everyone who was part of making it a wonderful beautiful day for her. We had 34 guests and every single one enjoyed their experience and we stayed for what seemed like hours, but were never rushed or hurried. If you’re looking for something extra special, or if you just want a wonderful, delicious dining experience, make a reservation and go to the White Pillars. There is no place on the coast that offers this level of elegance and charm while still giving you the feeling that you are the most important table in the restaurant. It’s beautiful, classic and the food is so delicious. Nothing...

The entire meal was a work of art!
Atmosphere: the atmosphere was a uniquely customizable. I did not dress formally, but the staff could have easily upgraded or downgraded the amount of formal. Each table was candle lit.
First thingy: Not sure what the name was but the first thing (something long and french) on the table was a small piece of bacon (I think they said pork cheeks?, but it was bacon) with delicious little toppings, beautifully served.
Bread: Expertly toasted bread with butter and herbs, served with spreadable lard blended with the perfect amount of honey and something else I can’t remember.
Starter: Seasonal flat bread (see description In menu). Delicious, fatty, and wonderful!
Small plates:
Quail - hardy and served with butternut squash.
Brussels sprouts - I have had this dish at other restaurants before, but never executed this well!
Crab toast - probably the best starter. Full of flavors with the perfect amount of fresh tastes and fat.
Duck fat fries - BEST FRIES YOU WILL EAT IN YOUR LIFE.
Entrees:
Seared Duck and Duck Confit - absolutely spectacular. This entree was a true work of art! The confit was served on top of a bed of greens. The seared duck was too perfect. The plate was decorated with root vegetables some hardy and some sweet. This dish served the range of flavor and I won’t pretend to understand or fully appreciate what the chef did with this!
Sword fish: I had a little taste of this, it was not my entree, I would get and I would recommend.
I highly recommend this place for the average joe and people who would call themselves foodies!
Staff: I may have been served by 4-5 staff members. The service is on...
