El Potrillo — Restaurant in Biloxi

I love their food, was so excited about finding this place. They're one of the few places that don't put the fat in the meat for the asada tacos. Unfortunately though, this is probably my last time coming here because the last time I came previous to this time, they messed my order up and I couldn't eat the steak fajitas. It was a to-go order. They didn't put the tortillas in there. When I went up there today I politely addressed it with the waitress and asked her if she could do anything about it and she said that she would just replace the tortillas. What about the rest that I couldn't eat because there were no tortillas? I still have the meat sitting in my refrigerator, I can show them that it didn't get eaten at all. I wasn't even asking for a refund, just that they replaced the cost of that meal either with the same meal done correctly or something that is equivalent to the same price. They wouldn't do that though. What I'm going to do with just some tortillas? Lol! Dang, and this was my favorite Mexican restaurant too because their food is really good. But I guess I'll find...

El Portillo is a place I had passed hundreds of times, so finally I decided to stop and give it a try!

The people who work there are so gracious and kind! They gave me plenty of time to look at their incredible menu, and I eventually decided to get their daily special, chicken fajitas!

They didn’t come out sizzling, but that’s absolutely okay! I would’ve liked the chicken to have been a little more tender and juicy, but the portion for a daily special was really quite generous! Also the peppers and onions beneath the chicken were good but a bit salty for me!

Now having said that, the plate with the rice beans, guacamole, and pico was truly one of the best I’ve seen, and their salsa and guacamole were wonderful!

They also had the most incredible sweet / unsweet tea!

Maybe the Gulfport location is better. The waitress is not very welcoming or attentive at all. She seemed lazy or like she just didn’t want to serve us even though no one else was there. The food was bland. I’ve never had bland Mexican food before today. We went for the birria tacos that were advertised on the Facebook page and got something completely different. Even though we asked the waitress a few times if it was what was advertised. She blamed it on the chef but didn’t offer for it to be remade or reimbursed. We ordered a cheese quesadilla for a toddler and it wasn’t even cut and we weren’t brought any utensils to cut it. It was just a bad experience all around. It would’ve helped if the food was actually good but it was disgusting. I don’t recommend...
