Update: the owner Lori, who said she was out of town at the time, called an apologized sincerely and issued a refund for one of the 6 rides I purchased. Still not thrilled with the whole experience.
Every other adult in my family of 6 (all weighing in the 130-180 pound range) felt uncomfortable in the seats on the junior track. It was fine for my 11 year old nephew. There were several mechanical problems with the carts not starting or stalling in the middle of the track. It was moderately painful for my mother who weighs about 170 pounds but she didn't complain or ask for a refund. If it was just a little painful for me, I would have gone anyway and not mentioned anything to anyone, nor left a bad review, because I just wanted to do something fun with my family that included my nephew and I can handle discomfort--but I simply could not get in the seat. I specifically asked BEFORE purchasing the tickets if they thought I would fit, and they said "oh yeah, no problem," said something about "sizing" us first (which I guessed entailed making adjustments to the carts or helping us figure out which ones we would fit in best) and then they took our payment of $141. There were no seats in the lobby to try out and they did not direct me to go try the seats. They said we couldn't go to the track until our names were called. I am a large person (244 pounds) with wide hips, but not so large that I need a seatbelt extender on airplanes, nor do I have any problem sitting on most normal adult chairs. I recently went on the Alpine Rollercoaster in Boone NC, and go carting at Franky's in Durham NC last May when I was 20 pounds heavier. I thought the "sizing" would take place at some point after our names were called, but we were just told to get in the cars after a safely video. When I told them I didn't fit in the go-cart seat here, they offered to let me go on a different track with faster go carts, which they said had larger seats, a half hour later. Even though it was going to make us all late for dinner and no one in my family would be racing with me, I said ok-I didn't want to make a big deal. Again they acted like there was no question that I would fit. I asked several times if the seats were wider and the said yes. I waited 30 minutes, watched the safety video again, and went to the cart. The seat didn't appear much larger (if at all), and I couldn't fit in it either. There were some people that looked like they might have weighed a little more than me and could fit due to having relatively smaller hips (though I can't imagine it was comfortable), so I was trying to be understanding. I went to go ask for a refund for just my ride, and they claimed it was impossible. The only thing they offered was a credit for another race, but we have no plans for returning to Biloxi, and there were people waiting on us for dinner. We asked if we could get an arcade credit or even a sweatshirt, or a gift certificate for a single ride that I could try to give to someone, but they refused (they said the voucher for a future ride had to be in my name or the name of someone else in my group, none of whom lived nearby). Though the average review was 4.2, looking through them more closely, it seems that quite a few people have had bad experiences, and many of the 5 star reviews sound to me like they were written by the...
Read moreFirst time coming here and i enjoy every penny's worth of it. There is 2 race tracks, a small one for those who's minimum height is 52 inches and a big 0.91 mile(according to their website) race track with a 50-55 mph italian engine Go-Kart for those who's height us at least 60 inches. It costed me $75 with 4 people but you last 10 minutes on the track which feels like half an hour so thats why its worth it. Before paying, those under 18 yrs old have to have a parent or guardian have to sign this liability form. Those 18 or older like me, just sign this form and you will be able to enter the race track. They also have an little/tiny arcade. Upon entering the line to get on the race track, you just put on this fresh head sock and then put the sweaty helmet with most of them having a broken face cover 🤣 wait usually about 5 minutes, take some pictures, mess with the helmet, or look at the strangers around you, think about breaking the rules, remember one of the Initial D songs, hear the instructions coming from one of the trainees and ignore them anyways until you get stuck outside the track and panic because someone who love must be laughing at you and you begin to feel miserable until you get back on the track and bump that loved one out of the race to feel special again.
After the other guys finish the race and when its your turn, be sure to grab one of the neck protectors from one of those sweaty dudes that just finish the race. Find yourself a kart and have trouble finding the seatbelt because you never have been on one of these karts before. After finding and pulling the seatbelt unless you cried for help for one of the trainees to help you. The first thing that comes to mind, "Im going to go full speed and knock my son or daughter out of the race because i love them and its funny"
When the race starts, you have no idea whats going on or how much you have press on the throttle. Its like going to the dealership and try this unfordable red car and realize "This car looks awesome but it feels weird"
After the failing the first lap because you went too fast on the first curve or if you manage to get through the first lap because 50mph is too fast for you until that adreneline hits you and you feel end up driving competitive.
While driving on the go kart make sure your ready to get dirty because other drivers will drive just as reckless as you, or worse, pour dust allover you and hit the barricade because every race needs a dude whos willing to go beyond reckless just to show the other spectators how cool they are at being stupid.
After several dust bowls, twists, turns, and many, many fails along the curve, because 50mph isnt fast enough after you finish the race.
On your way to leave the kart, make sure you hand someone your sweaty and dusty gear and leave the building because next time you go, you want to drag everyone out of the track and are willing to do things that you didnt do in your first time.
This is a very fun place and i will be coming back here again because spending money to bump people and shampoo your clothes in dust is worth the adreneline and fun.
They should play a Initial D...
Read moreThe management, (co- owner, or whatever she thinks she is),here is the absolute worst!!!! We were racing in the front track when one of our party spun out in the first curve and was hit by another driver knocking him off the track and into the tires. The cart was hit pretty hard and some damage was caused. The race was stopped and would resume in 45minutes to an hour while they removed the cart. We asked for a refund on our second race due to the wait. We were told, No refunds would be given. She also made it very clear that if we keep arguing with her, she wouldn’t give any refunds. Who’s arguing? We were simply trying to ask a question and have an adult conversation with you. You weren’t even capable of that. We were also told it was caused by one of our party driving too fast around that corner after being warned numerous times to slow down around that corner. No warnings ever took place. When questioned about the warnings, the manager(co owner or whatever she claims to be), replied that we were told to drive slow around the corners in the video prior to the race. I do not remember seeing any supposed warnings. Neither does anyone else in the party. I do however remember very clearly, after watching the video being told by one of the staff members to take the first lap at half speed to learn the track and then after the green flag you can go as fast as you’d like. They need to get on the same page with there instructions. The manager, ( co owner or whatever she thinks she is) was extremely rude never asking if anyone was hurt. She made it very clear to us and everyone in the standing area that she was only concerned with the well being of her cart. She said several times that he destroyed her cart. You destroyed my cart. You’ve costed me a lot of money she said. Lady, you need to learn how to run a business. The first thing you need to be concerned with is the well being of the driver. You need to learn patience and ask questions without jumping to conclusions. You need to treat paying customers with respect and stop raising your voice and cursing. You need to learn how to manage if you are gonna be the face of that business. We spent over $500 in the last two trips there. The last money we will ever spend in your establishment. Maybe you’ll take away something from this and improve your management skills before it costs you your the business. I would not recommend this...
