Came to see what the hype was about Project Lounge. First impressions as we parked- very small and hole in wall type place situated beside an XXX store. As we opened the door it was so dark you could barely see the tables and chairs until your eyes adjusted to the darkness. Very smoky and smells of cigarettes throughout. The bar was slammed so we sat ourselves at a table in the corner. A waiter greeted us within minutes and took our drink order. Drink specials during happy hour are decently priced. Four adults in our group so we ordered a tuna dip for appetizer, (2) Hamburger meals with potato salad, ahi tuna sandwich, and a steak sandwich. Tuna dip wasn’t the best or the worst, wouldn’t order again. Hamburgers were cooked to order and cooked perfectly with a good flavor just not sure it’s a #1 voted burger place. The steak sandwich was a large portion and was delicious (definitely would order that again) and the tuna sandwich was flavorless in my opinion even with the sesame dressing poured on it. So overall first time experience was a let down with all the hype given by a local FB foodie group.

I have been visiting this place for a year. Every time I've placed an order at this place it has come out exactly as ordered. This is by far the best Dive Bar I've ever been in. I work in a similar bar in Huntsville, AL and this is by far a much superior version. As I have stated in previous reviews I am a chef and by nature I dissect food that I eat/ feed my family. I have ordered 6 plus burgers too take home to the family to eat. I have dealt with family members "Craving"the burgers so much that I ultimately relent and just go monthly to get burgers (sometimes several times a month). The Tuna Steak is always cooked to perfection and very tasty. The drinks are cold and made properly. The prices are extremely reasonable and the staff is always on top of their craft. Thank you to The Project Lounge for being an amazing piece of my past year. Looking forward to coming here even more often as I transition to a permanent resident. If you haven't given this place a visit yet, stop wasting your time and get there as soon as you're done reading this.

I’ve heard a lot about this place and wanted to check it out myself. Yes it is a bar. But apparently it is well known for its burgers and yes they are very good. There is plenty of seating and yes, even though the light is not bright… in some of the areas of the bar, you can sit at the bar itself and watch them grill your food. The burgers are definitely fresh no frozen patties here. Also had a chicken salad. The chicken was cooked perfectly. It is very open and airy, staff was wonderful it was not smoky. And yes, they have popcorn, which apparently the regulars come in the back door and grab a boat of it before they sit down. They will keep your glass of soda full. It was quite busy at lunch, but that is expected from the quality of the food and service. Bathrooms were clean, parking lot was clean. It was a very enjoyable lunch.

Two people I know were 86'ed because someone else tried to cause an uproar when they were in there. The woman who caused the issue was the sister of my brother's ex-wife. There was no "fight," as I well know because when it happened I was living 7.5 hours away and heard about it in real time from multiple sources. I know the parties involved, as they were all family at a point in time, including my long time boyfriend, a mutual friend of my brother and his ex, the friend of the girl who is also my friend and was there with her, and my mother who was directly involved. The woman who caused the problem was his ex's sister and she was drunk. She let loose a barrage of expletives on my mother, who had not interacted with her at all. After all was said and done, the bartender decided everyone was at fault.

When I tried to visit a year later with my mother, brother, and a different friend, we were told we weren't welcome because or the "incident" which the bartender called a fight. The sister of my brother's ex was drunk and tried to cause problems with my mother while she was there. She was unsuccessful in causing the fight she wanted, but managed to get them all kicked out that night.

Over a year later, we were asked to leave.

It would be better for the bartenders to know the facts and make decisions about people allowed based on facts rather than who they like.

No matter what, we (4 adults who have lived on the coast for over 25 years) and our friends and significant others will not re-enter this location. I'll miss the food, but I will find other late night...

Right off the bat, let's get this straight: This place is a dive bar. It's dark and it might be noisy at times. If that isn't your thing then you probably don't want to try this place. BUT if you want THE best hamburger or steak sandwich that you will ever taste, then you have to try this place. It's cash only but they have a ATM by the popcorn machine in the back. You can get your burger/sandwich built any way you want. I hear they do a killer tuna steak too but I've never had one. I either do the cheeseburgers or steak sandwich and I've never had a bad one. The girls that cook and run the bar are always in a great mood. Just do this. When you park, walk around back and go in through the back door. As soon as you enter, stop walking and give your eyes 30 seconds to adjust. Turn to your right and grab cash if you need it, then get yourself a boat of free popcorn. Walk in and sit down and enjoy the popcorn. Watch the girls do their thing and when your food arrives, have the best grub that you'll find for your money. Pay your bill and tip the girls and then repeat as often as you can afford. Like the song says, "I...

Let's see. It was only my second time being there. The first time going was perfectly fine. My friend and I got served within two minutes of sitting. The food and drinks were splendid and it was quick. This second time, I went with a couple of buddies of mine and we never got served. The servers were way too busy fooling around with the rest of everyone else and kept visiting the other tables. I guess they were super good friends and we were nonexistent. I ended up going to the bar and ordering my drink. I asked about food. The bartender said that there were only steak sandwiches left. I tried to order two minutes after that and after telling my buddies the info. She then said, "We are no longer serving food. We are out." So, the sandwich I spoke so highly of wasn't available anymore. The waitresses just did dumb stuff while we were waiting at a table. I looked like a liar due to the poor service. It was just unbelievable. There was also no lighting. We had to use our phone flashlights to see the little menus. Why was it so easy and enjoyable when first going there and then absolutely terrible the second? I don't get it. I...
