Lone Pine Budget Inn — Hotel in Bishop

My wife and I reserved a room for the advertised price given on the website. We received a confirmation receipt of the reservation and proceeded to the hotel, as it was 6 PM and check in was listed as anytime after 2 PM. When we arrived, I attempted to check in with the lady working at the front desk and was immediately subjected to the most hostile, brusque, rude and unprofessional encounter I have ever experienced in a hotel. The front desk attendant flatly stated that it was impossible that I had made the reservation, despite the fact that I was able to SHOW HER THE CONFIRMATION, and then proceeded to attempt to argue with me that the price I was quoted was incorrect despite the fact that it was itemized on the confirmation email I had received from THEIR SYSTEM. I chose to take my business elsewhere instead of continuing to attempt to reason with a person who is clearly uninterested in providing service. I will be sure to inform the large online hiker community to avoid this establishment if they are stopping...

Budget inn, checked off the box for a place to sleep for a night. Nothing fancy. No breakfasts. Limited coffee or tea in the room. Two large and two small towels and three pillows in the room. I could feel my wife get in and out of the king bed mattress. Otherwise bed wasn't as stiff as I thought from other reviewers.

Internet wifi was around 5 Mbps so fast enough to stream videos.

Was surprised they actually pre cooled the room upon arrival. A/c was on cold low fan and fridge already cold so didn't need to spend hours getting to a good cold temperature upon arrival. outside was 100-104.

AC in room during the night didn't get too 🥶 cold. Did have to turn it down upon waking up though Not noisy.

I had planned a week here, I left after 1 night. The beds were rock hard, the pillows extremely flat (and hard). The wifi was pointless and unusable. The clock was unplugged in the room, when I plugged it in, I discovered the buttons were all broke and it couldn't be programmed. The rubber drain stopper in the bathtub was covered in dirt and slime (and looked 40 years old). The toilet seat had spots worn off the finish, which means it doesn't get very clean in those worn spots. The parking was also horrible, but since it wasn't very full that night, that wasn't a very big issue. I don't think there was a breakfast offered, check-in didn't mention it, and by the time I left I wouldn't have eaten it anyway. Oh and the office was closed when I left at 7:30AM in the morning.
