My wife and I recently stayed for 9 days after having a terrible experience back in April where the room power would go out constantly. We were promised a great experience and rate to come back and try it again so we gave them a shot as the facility is new and I regret that decision. Out rate was promised to be low due to the previous stay issues but was no better than online. Then talking to people in the pool they were bragging about a $99 a night rate they got from a local exotic car rental place. I was told this a special GM rate and not allowed for regular guests, even though we were promised the best rate due to the troubles we had previously. Someone on the low $99 rate was smoking weed and cigarettes on their patio below ours and when I finally figured out who it was as they were passing a joint while we were sitting at the pool I complained. Nothing was done and the next day I was told that the the GM had to get involved because they had been there doing this for a month on the reduced GM rate. Thankfully, a day later Aimee at the front desk called them as the GM obviously doesn’t care. Resort fees are not worth the $50. I asked what this is for and was told the boat to the beach, shuttle to a different beach and the pool. Well, just about every hotel in Naples has a pool and shuttle. Pool is very nice but if you are looking to relax, the only days that was possible were Tuesday to Thursday. Sunday they had a DJ so loud you couldn’t hear or try to read. On Saturday’s they move half the chairs for yoga and then the women take all the other chairs and hang out after. I had to complain again to get the chairs pulled back over so that we could lounge. The pool caters to resort passes and other locals over registered guests and seems to try to be like a Miami style pool. Rooms are clean and the floors have tile which is nice. Bathrooms are the size of a phone booth so don’t try and be getting ready the same time as your wife. Two people will not fit. The air system doesn’t work correctly. I changed the temp and it would go right back. Finally had to turn AC fan on and run all the time in order to keep cool. Bed was very firm and didn’t seem to be of high quality you expect from a nice hotel. We couldn’t wait to get home to our own bed and that is rarely the case. One chair with small table and could use another or a small couch. Balconies are nice. Overall not great rooms for the price. Views are nice. Just don’t look left to the broke down trailer park. Oh and we only had one outlet breaker go out this time as we were told we specifically given one that has never had a problem and they were still trying to fix the electrical issues. Seems as though some corners were cut for cheap work to build the property out. Restaurant on the rooftop. Can’t say much about that as there is no world in paying $115 for a steak. We go to high end steakhouses each time we are in town and that’s way above what they charge. The restaurant in the back called the Bay house is much more reasonable and isn’t associated with the hotel. Tried the food at the pool and it was not good. Uncut lettuce on a salad for $30. Staff was mostly very nice and helpful. They seem to care about the complaints and wanted to help whether they could or not. Location is good. Lots in the area, especially if you have wheels and know the area. If not, you’re stuck on a highway with a trailer park next door to walk through and see some hurricane destruction. Overall, if you are looking for a relaxing stay in Naples, I would look elsewhere. It’s decent hotel with some issues to work out but it’s NOT a resort. They seem to be more worried about locals and parties or happy hours than people staying at the hotel. That’s my perception and, most times,...
Read moreA Stay at The Perry Hotel: A Mixed Experience My partner, my French bulldog, and I recently stayed at The Perry Hotel in Naples, Florida, while our house was being renovated. Our initial experience was positive, and we particularly enjoyed our first night. The dinner at The Tigress restaurant was absolutely amazing, and we highly recommend it. We will definitely be returning to The Tigress, but unfortunately, our experience at the hotel itself was quite different. Upon check-in, I was informed that our dog was not permitted near the pool area, which was fine. However, upon reaching our room, which had a convenient downstairs connection to the pool, I noticed another guest with their Maltese by the poolside. The dog barked incessantly, which was a nuisance while we were trying to relax. I brought this to the attention of the front desk, and while they spoke to the other guest, nothing really changed. While not a huge deal, it was frustrating that my well-behaved dog couldn't be near the pool, while another guest's barking dog was. A more significant issue arose with the hotel's pet policy. The website stated a $150 pet fee, but I was charged over $200 at check-in. This discrepancy was never resolved, and no one from the hotel ever reached out to address it. The most upsetting incident, however, occurred on the second day of our stay. My partner had gone back to our house, and I returned to the hotel alone after work. At around 6:30 PM, as I was undressing for dinner, the door to my room suddenly swung open. A staff member entered without knocking, and I was completely undressed. I was mortified and quickly ran to a different part of the room to cover myself. The staff member, who was there for a supposed "turndown service," just stood there with the door open. I quickly got dressed and asked if I could help her. She seemed shocked to see me. When I went to the front desk to complain, the staff member there was also surprised and informed me that turndown service is only provided upon request. This incident was highly unsettling and made the rest of my stay very uncomfortable. That night, I could barely sleep, as I kept hearing a strange clicking noise that sounded like the door lock. Having recently been robbed in another hotel during Hurricane Ian, my mind immediately went to the worst-case scenario. The next morning, I spoke with a front desk employee, who was quite unhelpful and rude. She told me the general manager would call me at 10:00 AM, but no one ever did. When I called at 12:30 PM, I was told the general manager was suddenly out of town and that someone else would contact me the next day. I never heard from anyone at the Perry Hotel again, not even to apologize for the intrusion, the front desk lady I spoke to the night of the inncident also informed me that housekeeping staff are supposed to knock at least three times and announce themselves before entering a room—something that clearly did not happen. It's disheartening that a local business would treat its guests this way. My family and I frequently enjoy staycations at local hotels, especially during the off-season. This experience has ensured that The Perry Hotel will never be on our list of places to stay again. The lack of an apology or any attempt to rectify the situation shows a complete disregard for customer service. They could have easily made things right with a simple apology and by adjusting the pet fee to match their website. While we will continue to frequent The Tigress restaurant, we will never be staying at The Perry...
Read moreI wasn’t sure what to expect from my stay here, as it was booked fairly last minute. However, I can honestly say it was the best part of our week holiday in Florida and I was sad to leave!||The hotel itself is incredibly new, with super easy on site parking. The hotel building and surrounding grounds are really nicely designed and everything feels really premium.||Every member of staff we encountered were really awesome and friendly. Particular shout out to Amy (I hope I remembered that right) who was a stand out SUPERSTAR. Not only just lovely to interact with, but also helped us with a later check out given we needed to change and get ready for our long drive to the airport. That’s the type of service you hope to receive everywhere, but doesn’t often happen. We were so grateful.||The rooms are premium and spacious. We were on the fifth floor, with fantastic views overlooking the outside pool area and beyond. Bathroom was lovely, with a gorgeous powerful shower and really nice products like body wash, shampoo, and moisturiser provided. The bed was really large and comfortable, and my favourite feature was the ceiling fan… instead of just needing air conditioning (which can make you too cold and dry you out), a ceiling fan helps to make the air pleasant and helps make for a more relaxing sleep.||The gym is absolutely fantastic and I was super sad to only have time for one workout. Brand new Life Fitness equipment, plenty of space, free weights, and various other machines. Most hotel gyms are tragic and this one excels. Towels are provided, and there’s a water fountain to fill up your bottle. (Actually, I spotted these around the hotel which is a great idea).||We hung out on the rooftop pool across both days. This is a really nice space reminiscent of Soho House, which is adults only. However, there were kids in the pool and I think it’d be great to have staff ensure rules are followed. Nothing against kids as they have their own pool downstairs, but it’s nice to have a space purely for adults - please help keep it that way. We also sat by the ground floor pool one early evening before dinner, and it’s beautiful with plenty of loungers and seating for you to enjoy.||Honestly, I thought this hotel was off to a great start. One suggestion would be better signage - we weren’t sure where to find the gym initially as there was no sign, and one member of staff we asked didn’t know either. Perhaps a directory in the lift? Also, WiFi signal on the rooftop was patchy - perhaps something to look at improving. It was great in the rooms.||Thanks for a great stay. We are really looking forward to coming...
