Stayed Dec. 14, 2024 Been visiting the casinos in Bossier for more that 20 years. We've gone as getaway short vacations about once a year.
King Room. Found it online for about $150 a night which I felt was fair for a weekend rate (hotel direct was $250+). Room was clean. Bottom sheet of bed was just laid on top of mattress topper which made it move easily, exposing the masters topper. Would of been nice if it were fitted, or big enough to be tucked under the mattress. Pillows were for side sleepers, very thick, and one, the guts of the pillow were very separated. Only shampoo & shower gel available, no conditioner. The in room HVAC system worked, but didn't, it was warm and muggy out and we couldn't get cooler air to come on. Very small refrigerator and no microwave. Microwave is available by front desk on first floor. In room coffee maker was dirty. Toiletpaper was cheap, thin and rough. One elevator door was falling apart in the sense of it not being smooth, but the elevator itself was fast and smooth. No valet.
Food, the Cafe was open rolls eyes but very limited. The food resembles what you might get at a gas station. Buffet has been closed, but opened back up only serving evening meal from like 4-9 or something like that. We did not partake. No discounts. No frills or fluff. Very few patrons so I'm guessing there was the standard dried food sitting around. The steak house looked like it had been closed for some time.
Casino; only 2 floors open (3rd floor closed) very few tables were available, with no roulette table at all. It wasn't busy for what I would have thought for a Saturday night and it was muggy and warm, very little to no air circulation. The whole experience was lackluster and boring. The patrons in the casino seemed to be basically locals, and there were "a few" that ran a bank playing 1 line for 1 penny taking up several machines for hours. (The color sceam inside was dark and blah, old and warn... it was rather depressing)
The staff. At the hotel and casino seemed happy, helpful and very pleasant. No issues with any. Service with a smile!
I have visited many casinos in Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Vegas of course, but I will not be back to the Bossier casinos or stay at the (casino)hotels. I was so disappointed. It's like the entertainment director was fired or something. Even the music was depressing. They may have to revert back to offering rooms with deep discounts or casino free play for it to look alive again.... It's a shame, Bossier used to be exciting and worth the trip.
Hope your visit is more...
Read moreI came last week to the Boomtown Casino Hotel and stayed for 3 nights. It wasn't as fancy as what I'm used to in the city where I live. I really feel like this hotel needs to be remodeled asap. The carpet is old, the furniture's old, the ceiling is strange and the curtains are really old and dilapidated. It looks like it came out of a 1840 scary movie. The one-room we went to had a nice hot tub in the king room, but had a leak on the ceiling and water was dripping into the tub. My sister wouldn't let us switch rooms because she didn't want to bother anybody. The staff is nice and always polite just like practically all the Louisiana people. The bathrooms look like Motel 6. They're just so ugly and nasty. They are plain old white tiles with dirty grout. The view seriously had two dumpsters with old mattresses dumped in them. The pool is decent-sized and the hot tub is great. It really bubbles up and is very hot. There were too many kids dominating the pool all day so we had to wait till about 8:30 till they all went to bed. Then we only had an hour and a half and they came and kicked us out promptly at 10. I don't like it that they close at 10 p.m. When we got there the one night there were no towels in the pool area. I had to get out of the pool freezing and walk dripping wet to the reservation desk. She told me somebody would send the towels down to us. I didn't really believe that was going to happen but I went back to the pool and then 45 minutes later and still no towels. I told this guy guest to go down there and ask for towels maybe they would listen to him. He went down there soaking wet and asked for towels and the receptionist said she would have them delivered. We all angrily waited another 30 minutes and then finally somebody came with the towels. Eureka. Things are slow to get done around here. But the staff is polite once they get around to doing it. I would still come back to this hotel especially if you get a comp night and or a reduction in the room rates on a special. I was getting used to the old style decor. I wish management would put some time and effort into this hotel remodel it and get it up to 2018 standards. Okay I returned this week for a few more nights and I had a much better room and a much better experience so I'm going to change my recommendation. The staff was awesome...
Read moreHORRIBLE…. Don’t waste your money here, go to the horshoe. The ratings on here are obviously false. First off the food at the restaurant isn’t good and overpriced, my filet was burnt. Then I ended up forgetting exactly what my room number was because I wasn’t the one who checked in my wife was. I go downstairs to try to get a room key and they won’t let me get one. So I knock on the wrong door, person answer is upset, which I completely understand . Then my wife opens the door and lets me in my hotel room, which was literally right next to the person door that I knocked on. Long story short, the security came and asked me what happened I told them, then they said everything was fine and I could go back to sleep. Then in the middle of the night Bossier city police bus in to my room and try to arrest me, I’m a disabled veteran, and they cause excruciating pain to me. Also scaring my wife and daughter who is in the room. And now i have to go to Court for “ remaining after being for bidden quote even though the security guards never forbid me they told me I could go back to my room. This place is horrible, and they’ll be getting a lawsuit very soon. I would personally say don’t go to Bossier City at all, I’m dealing with their court system right now, and it is extremely corrupt. But if you must go to Bossier City, I would go to the horseshoe casino it’s way nicer, the hotel staff is very friendly and the food is amazing. Also the table games or five dollars instead of 15 at Boomtown. Do yourself a favor...
