The Perthshire House — Hotel in Boston

This place was absolutely perfect for a brief stay in Boston with my best friend! The check-in and -out process was very clearly explained and went smoothly, and Charles was available and quick to respond to any questions during our stay. The room was comfortable and had a beautiful big mirror which we loved, and the bathroom was far more modern than you would expect from the historic vibe of the house- it had a beautiful open shower and hygiene products available if you needed them. The common spaces were lovely and it was great to have a big fridge to store leftovers from dinner in, and the outdoor patio space was very welcome after a long day of travel! With multiple locked doors leading to the common spaces and our room, we felt very safe. The walk into town was only about 7 minutes and we found lots of cute places for dinner our first night, and downtown Boston was only an 11 minute uber ride. Charles was very kind and allowed us to keep our luggage in the house past the check-out time so we could have more time to explore Boston during the day before we left for our next location- this was very very appreciated! By far, The Perthshire House is the biggest hidden gem in Boston! The house is absolutely incredible, offering a perfect blend of traditional charm and modern comfort. The host, Charles, goes above and beyond to ensure his guests have the best possible experience. Not that there are many, but I did see a couple of questionable reviews before booking, but after staying here, I can tell those were simply phony reviews meant to harm the business.

Charles is incredibly attentive and truly met every single one of my needs. He even went out of his way to buy me new pillows because the ones I had were too firm! Where else would you get that kind of treatment? It’s no wonder why the house has so many five-star reviews—the true reviews that should be highlighted.

I had the pleasure of staying at The Perthshire House, and I cannot recommend it enough! The location is incredible—so close to both Boston College and Harvard, and just a stone’s throw from the beautiful Charles River. It’s the perfect spot for exploring the best of Boston!

The house itself is impeccably decorated, blending modern touches like the stylish lighting and state-of-the-art security system with a classic New England charm. It really gives you that cozy, traditional feel you expect in a New England home, while also providing all the modern comforts.

A huge plus is the free parking in Boston—such a rarity! And let’s not forget the Casper mattresses that make the sleeping experience incredibly comfortable. I’ve never slept better!
