The name says it all: From Scratch-Authentic Italian Pizzeria. I tasted the dedication, homemade quality, and authenticity in everything I tried tonight. You can tell that everything is made from scratch using the best ingredients. My 4 plate tour of Italy and 1 stop in France was truly a night to remember. Our table's tour of Southern Europe started in Italy with the Arancini Margharita Antipasti. With a crunchy exterior and creamy interior, these little balls of heaven paired perfectly with the marinara sauce that accompanied them. It was at this point that my excitement hit a boiling point because I realized what I was in for. The next dish raised my expectations higher than I ever anticipated: Pizza Frutti Di Mare. I had never experienced pizza to this degree and this will take over my blissful dreams tonight. Clams, mussels, shrimp, calamari, garlic and olive oil accompanied by San Marzano tomato sauce on a crust that I saw come out of an authentic Italian pizza oven. I had never seen these toppings on a pizza before and the execution was flawless. This was the shining star of the night. My table also ordered the Pizza Margarita and it took all of my restraint to not enjoy a slice of this crowd pleaser as I awaited the next course. My night would've been unforgettable if ended there, but wait, there's much more. Staying in Italy, we come to the next dish: Carbonara with Tagliatelle pasta. I knew I was going to order this before I sat down after reading the menu at work earlier. My mom made this dish for many years after learning the recipe from my nonna who grew up in Italy and I was ready to compare the two. All I would say is "mom, I think we have a winner here". The best word I can use to describe this dish is rich. The homemade pasta was cooked perfectly and paired decadently with the blend of eggs, pecorino, pancetta and black pepper. I had already ate half a pizza and appetizer, but there was no way I was not finshing this dish. Each forkful brought a smile to my face and warmth in my heart. The best part in my opinion was the crunchy, savory pieces of pancetta that gave a nice contrast of texture to the silky smooth dish. Our last stop of the Italian landscape brings us to the Bruschetta Antipasti. A final appetizer before dessert, the timing was perfect. The freshness of the tomatoes and olive oil (I know I'm missing ingredients) over the toasted crunch of bread was a light treat amongst heavyweight dishes I had already slayed. Last but not least, we leave Italy and make our way to France for the Creme Brulee. Breaking the caramelized top layer of sugar to get to the creamy custard base was almost as sweet and fulfilling as the dessert itself. This was the angel on top of the Christmas tree of dishes I had tasted throughout the night. With a few berries sprinkled on top, this dessert was delicious and a perfect end to the night. All of the dishes tried were amazing and the service throughout the night was perfect. I felt like I was at a Pizzeria in Italy with the ambience, table setting and atmosphere. You can tell this restaurant has a lot of heart and I will be...
Read moreLet me just say, if there were more 5 star options on google review I would 100% be clicking them. I can’t say enough about this new Oak Square Italian restaurant “From Sratch”.
My Mom, sisters and I decided to walk and sit down, right when we walked in, the energy was great. All the staff were rlly warm and inviting. Special shoutout to our waitress Kiara, she was so sweet and attentive. The owners/ chefs are married and are so so generous, detail oriented and amazing energy.
We got a Cesar salad and a margarita pizza to start off…it came out in like 4 minutes… absolutely incredible timing. We literally finished our starters within 4 minutes lol.
-Pizza was so fresh, perfect crisp and thin crust. Sauce was immaculate. -Cesar Salad left you wanting more. Creamy Caesar dressing, shaved Parmesan, topped with a crunchy seasoned crouton. A perfect take out option as well.
We then moved towards the carbonara risotto and bolognese pasta. Wow. Wow. Wow. Everything was absolutely mouthwatering. Gone in 5 minutes.
-Carbonara Risotto: Very creamy, fluffy and warm. Served with a crunchy bacon on top. A perfect dish for a rainy day. -Bolognese pasta: Immaculate. Perfect meat and sauce ratio. Pepperdale pasta. Topped with fresh basil.
What I really liked about everything is that it’s all made “From Scratch”… I mean come on the branding is perfect🔥But srsly, it leaves you feeling good. Not too stuffed. Just well fed.
Oh and don’t think I forgot about the dessert. We got the tres leches cake, mango and blueberry panna cotta. The tres leches is the best I’ve ever had in my life. So moist and addicting. The Pana Cotta’s were so fresh and creamy…You could literally see the vanilla bean at the bottom. That’s when you know 💯
I’ll be trying everything on their menu 100%
If you haven’t had the chance to come, I highly advise you make...
Read morePerfection, il migliore!! Like a neighborhood pizzeria in an Italian town you wish you were in right now, there's a little table in the window just waiting for you. Homemade bread, slightly grilled and warm, served with olive tepenade right after we ordered - OMG, amazing. You'll want to buy the bread, alone! Table split the Signature Meatballs - 4 generous meatballs, great consistency, nicely seasoned sitting atop a delicate pool of flavorful tomato sauce. Frutti di Mare was simply exceptional with tiny calamari, quarter-sized sweet clams, succulent mussels and shrimp tossed with an ample portion of homemade....HOME MADE spaghetti. Shellfish was done to tender perfection, none overcooked, showing the deft hand of a chef that grew up just above the Amalfi Coast . The sauce was a great balance of wine, garlic, butter and herbs. This is easily a $50 dish anywhere, but here it's a bargain at $28. Table had same over two other exceptional homemade pastas. Also had a chicken parm with penne that was thankfully not swimming in sauce but rather properly tossed in just enough sauce to coat. The chicken was pounded thin and tender with a crisp crust to stand up to the sauce. Wow! The Italian owners - preparing each dish with passion in a spotless open kitchen 10 feet from your table - have truly brought Italy to Brighton. They and and their daughter are an absolute delight and our waitress was just outstanding. Get to know them, thank me later. We can't wait to go back often to sample the rest of the home made pasta dishes. I'm guessing that the pizza will be exceptional, as well, given the chef's upbringing close to Naples and by the crust and texture of that home made bread. Why are you still reading this? Go! Go to From Scratch, NOW! It's the real deal and a...
