Yes it is a public park that Newton is treating as a private pay to play park. The location of the playground is off of Grasmere St. It has a small fenced in play ground. The Off leash park is near Brighton New Balance store. The park is on-leash for the park with playground. There are two fenced in areas for off leash near 188 Newton Street Brighton apartments. Especially during the pandemic, and the town continues to increase their permit prices. On top of the original dog license you need for the town. Or really two: there's a smaller enclosed area that is great for small dogs, dog walkers and those whose dogs mainly want to play with other dogs and a huge grassy area, formerly a ball field, for dogs like our ball-obsessed hound that wqant to run and chase.
