My experience here was a mixed bag that leaned towards negative. I have been to a variety of nail salons around the Middlesex County area, most of which were around the same price of $75 but this was for detailed design work and acrylic extensions. The reason that I was initially drawn to come to Queen Bee Nails was because of the high rating and low pricing on Yelp (their Yelp page says $40 for acrylic full set, which could be acrylic nail polish however the phrasing is what initially misled me). However, I was informed that not only would a plain one-color set be $75, but if I wanted a design it would be an additional $20 and $15 for any type of rhinestones (totaling to $110 without tax, which is way out of my price range). When I told my technician that I would just get a plain set then, she persisted in trying to get me to do a design until I told her I don't have the money for it. After I said that, she was very quick on the nails. In fact, the total time that it took was probably 30 minutes including her working on my friend who accompanied me's nails. That, to me, was alarming. I later discovered that there were particles of dirt stuck in the nail gel of one finger. The color is light so it is blatantly obvious. Overall, the nails look alright but I will have to wait and see how long they hold up. I'm wary with how short of a time they took to do. I would call in and ask prices though before going, and don't base it off of the Yelp's pricing-- it's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve gone to Queen Bee 10-15 times to get a gel manicure, and the last one left a lot to be desired. I had asked for a light pink which I do understand could be my bad. My manicurist never asked if I liked the shape of my nailsātheyāre all uneven and have rounded edges despite that I asked for square. She never asked if I liked the color, and I was very surprised when she started curing it seeing that it looked like I simply got top coat on it, and the manicure itself was streaky and lumpy. At the end when I said I didnāt like it and that you could see my nail through it, she said that I asked for light pink. About fifteen minutes later I went back to get it removed since it looked even worse in daylight. She then offered to put another coat on it because I came back but I just got it removed, she even asked me to return the next day to get it removed. Iāve gotten fine nails done there prior but I think the lack of communication was frustrating about shape and color and that when I said it wasnāt what I expected I was told too bad essentially, so I am overall let down by this experience. They didnāt charge for the removal which was nice but I did pay the full price and tip and was not offered a partial...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI showed a picture of the trendy glazed donut nails (light pink with white chrome) and Tina helped find what was needed to match that. I came in with gel x/builder nails and wanted to do a nail change/refill. While shaving my nails, my pointer finger skin did get nicked, so it hurt a bit and started to bleed. At the end, in some lighting, the nails look amazing. However in other lighting, I was a little sad that you can still see the old gel x underneath ā you can kinda see where the old gel was growing out underneath the new gel color and chrome (the dark curved lines on my pointer and middle nails are more obvious in person than in the photos ā both are the same nails in different lighting). Tina thought it still looked nice and isnāt obvious, so I accepted it. I think overall, the staff is very nice and friendly. Tina was kind and made small talk. I donāt think I would do a gel change/refill again, but would come back with bare nails for a fresh new set, and I find the prices to be...
