I checked in without a reservation, in a thunderstorm, and was grateful they had vacancy because other hotels that I tried in the area did not have vacancies. I asked for an extended stay and was delighted to find out there was a price break for bookings of more than 5 days. I checked in on a Saturday and stated I would be there through Thursday. The young man that checked me in was very nice and accommodating. On Thursday, I was informed my booking was only through Wednesday and in order to extend my stay, I would be charged more than double the nightly rate that I had paid per night, for Saturday through Wednesday. It was unfortunate there had been a misunderstanding; however there was nothing they could do. So I checked out and walked across the street to another, much less expensive and much nicer hotel, The Ramada at Wyndham. I wish they had availability when I tried them on the prior Saturday. Otherwise I would not have been subjected to the following at VetteCity: My room was at the end of a long, filthy, smelly hallway. The room was old, but decently clean. However the bed was as hard as plywood. The sheets were like paper, sticking to you. I completed a room cleaning request, for just a few days of the stay to conserve resources; however, they did not show up and I had to request fresh towels, etc. from the front desk. The cleaning crew finally showed up, upon request the following Tuesday. Security concerns: The phone in the room did not work. I had to use my own mobile to contact the front. The exterior doors next to my room, leading to the outside were propped open each time I exited, in spite of signs warning otherwise. The exit door was extremely heavy and made a very loud boom each time someone exited. It woke me up several times a night. I smelled smoke from other rooms as I walked down the ominous hallway; in spite of signs everywhere that it was non-smoking. Once I walked down the hallway and a heavy chemical smell (not cleaning) was coming from a room. Another guest commented on it and I reported it to the front desk, as you never know what might be wrong. I do not know if/ how that was resolved. I did not feel safe. I was pleased there was a refrigerator and microwave and got groceries for the extended stay. The refrigerator froze most of the produce. I opened the separate freezer and there was frozen brown ice and what appeared to be some kind of bug in the ice. I do not recommend this place, and regret my stay; however considering the storm and lack of vacancy at my first stop, I settled. Do yourself a favor and check the Ramada, first. Decent rates and much cleaner, safer feeling and...
Read moreit was ok. you get what you pay for as one of the cheapest hotels in the area (70$/night). the advertising pictures on hotel sites are sort of deceiving unfortunately. the good: extremely kind & understanding staff, the corvette theme is cute, ac works very well, room gets nice and dark when the curtains are fully closed, room smelled nice, indoor pool & hot tub, working refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer, i enjoyed the reading lights and plenty of lamps, it's in a good location for going to the caves and having plenty of restaurants & activities in a nice short range, and accommodations were provided and easy to request more if needed. the bad: bed was extremely hard/uncomfortable, thin blankets (one with a burn hole), pillows were flat so we needed extras to sleep comfortably, ac hums loudly, no breakfast, room was sort of dirty and not well maintained, furniture is very beat up, and i did see a couple bugs in the bathroom scurry under the wall on the last day. (not sure if roaches but either way they need taken care of and i made sure to wash our stuff immediately when arriving home.) rooms also aren't "soundproof", an insane couple nextdoor was getting violent & screaming/crying from their 2am check in into the next day and we could hear almost every word. it was quite disturbing but we notified staff and they were very kind and did what they could. not hotel's fault of course but it made us very very nervous. please keep in mind if you're yelling literally everyone can hear you. went here on our anniversary vacation to the caves so i do wish it was a bit better, our trip in general was amazing so the room was the most lackluster part of the trip to be real but at least it was the only negative i suppose. it could be greatly improved upon with better management and more care. its probably fine for the price if you just need a place to stay for a night but it wasn't fantastic to be completely honest, I really would've preferred a cleaner and more maintained room for a...
Read moreThe absolute worst place I ever went to, for starters I wasn’t paid or asked to give a good comment unlike most of these I’m reading there is no way someone could be serious and leave a good review to this place, if I had the ability to post the pictures I have I would. This is what I saw after immediately checking out, sheets were popped, (unchanged)-urine stains on them, brown spots on the comforters, cob webs in the corners, extremely outdated decor, hallways reaked of urine, mold and cigarette smoke, as well as trash, phone didn’t even have a cord, light switches hanging off the wall, the list goes on and on. The management needs to complete Hospitality training, the owners need to get out of the Hotel business STAT. It’s obvious they don’t care, because it’s seems their only mission is to catfish people on the internet into booking a room and making money, with those pictures they have online. They honestly should be ashamed. Do not book here if you can help it. You have been warned. I was itching just thinking about it. Being someone with experience in the hotel business, I would fire the entire hotel staff, get a facelift, and sell to a company that knows what they are doing because.. man. Really??? The only good thing was the nice African American Woman who was on shift the Saturday night I decided to choose such hotel, it was my fault not knowing the area and I assumed it looked like the pictures on...
