I appreciate this place being open Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Food and prices are decent. Smoking patio is a plus for smokers like me.
However, after shift change Christmas Day, I waited nearly 50 minutes for another beer. Bartender was young twenties and stressed and never acknowledged me, not even via eye contact or a glance at my empty beer mug.
When she finally asked me if I needed anything, I asked her why it took so long. She gave the excuse that she was the only one there. (Her peer the night before never used that excuse and never needed to, even though she had tended bar alone.)
When I pointed out that it couldn't be the reason because she had waited on some customers twice before getting to me, she said, "Well, you weren't being very jolly." No, I hadn't been, but I waited patiently and quietly and politely. "So I have to act jolly to be served here?"
"Look," she said, "if you're going to be rude, I won't serve you at all," and she walked away.
She told the manager/owner, who approached and asked me what was wrong. I told him of the wait. He gave the same excuse. I told him how others were served multiple times before me. He told me I should have flagged her down. (I never do this out of politeness and respect.). I told him he shouldn't make excuses for poor service. He said, "I don't want to see her cry."
"So you'd rather see a customer unhappy?" I asked.
Instead of trying to remedy the situation, he tells me I can go somewhere else, and I tell him I am and that I am never coming back. He then had the audacity to tell me a lot of people say that but still return. "Not me," I...
Read moreWe were traveling from Biloxi, Mississippi to Ohio and made reservations at the Ramada Inn in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The Finish Line Sports Bar and Grill is attached to the hotel and after an eight hour drive, we took the closest place to eat. The place is very clean and the staff is pleasant. Our waitress was knowledgeable and offered suggestions. They seem to have some regulars at the bar that were enjoying each other’s company. Many TVs on a wide variety of stations. Atmosphere was as expected at a sports bar and grill. We ordered the chips and salsa with sour cream. Chips were fresh and salsa was tasty. The beer was cold (nice variety of domestic and craft beers) and the food came up quickly ( not many eating at 4pm). Presentation was great. I had fries and Buffalo wings. The wings could have been taken out of frier about 45 seconds earlier for a perfect cook time. The Buffalo sauce was good. French fries were perfect. My husband had the Fish platter. Fish was perfectly cooked. Seasoning was slightly too salty. Onion rings were excellent. We’ve ordered cheese cake to take back to our room but I can’t speak to how good that will be yet. Overall, happy to find this place adjacent to our hotel after an eight hour drive and then experience a nice dining experience. I would be happy to stop here if traveling in...
Read moreMy husband and I just finished a 12 hour drive and came here to eat. While one of our orders was good the other got messed up. We ordered wings with sauce on the side. The order came out with sauce on it and my husband only ate 2 wings and it gagged him. Our server didn’t own up to the mistake of bringing it out with sauce on it. The manager could care less and told us I don’t care if you don’t like it because of your preference. Charged us full price and then the server tried to default to a 25% tip. One of the worst experiences we had at a restaurant ever. It put a bad taste in our mouth literally and figuratively. Oh and then they had the nerve to tell us it was the busy night when we were the only table sat in the entire restaurant. An actual joke. If I could dispute our credit card charge I 100% would. Less than an hour and a half later, my husband threw up 4 times. We’re pretty sure they used the wrong sauce and gave him the jamician jerk instead of the...
