Silver Surf Anna Maria Island — Hotel in Brandenton Beach

We booked through Expedia, and got a great deal, which we were happy about!

Upon arrival we were told pretty rudely because of our age that an exception was made for us to stay and that if there was any rowdiness/partying we would be kicked out immediately. That was actually pretty upsetting to my husband and I. We actually received pretty meh service a lot of places because of how young we are/look.

Short rant: I can die for my country and be drafted away, but I can't drink/rent a car/hotel room etc. Oh well, we decided we would not let that affect our attitude.

The room upon entering was clean and there were plenty of rags, hand towels and bath towels. The bed was a king and that is a huge plus! There is a mini fridge, microwave and sink. There are also dishes in the cabinet which was super nice! (Our mini fridge actually worked and so did the freezer portion, which is a first for all the hotels I've been in lol) Each morning they have a complimentary breakfast for the guests. Not my favorite but they did have hard boiled eggs which was nice, because protein!! We also loved having the chairs/umbrellas on the beach, that was awesome!

We did have a noise issue however, not us though lol. There was an extremely rowdy group of 30-40 yo's who were very loud. Drunk. Annoying. The community of Anna Maria is mostly older people, so it's generally families and the elderly. These people were above us and for about 2 or 3 nights they would be up past 11:30pm stomping around like elephants above us and dragging around furniture. The good part is that there is an after hours emergency line you can call for issues like these, and they are responsive. I spoke with the owner about 3 times and it got so bad she drove 30 plus minutes out to resolve the issue for us. She made sure to call the people and let them know the problem and called us back to make sure we were comfortable. She even offered to switch our rooms, so we wouldn't have to deal with anything like that. I'm going to start by saying I personally rank them at a 10🌟... My family and I choose this resort like most people do. We look at our travel site compare prices and look at the picture s of the location and we make a choice. We chose Silver Surf because by the looks of the pictures online the price was beyond a good deal. This resort is at a excellent deal for what you get. The rooms are very well maintained, and very comfortable. The daily service has been great and they have been very helpful and easy to work with. NOW, the real reason they earned that 10🌟 was my family and I almost didn't make our trip due a family emergency and one of us ended up in the hospital. When we let them know what was going on the were completely understanding. Well we made it out of the hospital in time to make the trip when they received my message through the travel site, they instantly called me personally, not a message through the site they picked up the phone and called. They called to tell me that they were thankfully that we were all ok, and to check to see if we needed anything extra in the room to help our stay be as convenient as possible. They offered extra blankets, towels, pillows, shower chair or anything else we may need. We did need a shower chair so we requested it, I would have never thought to even ask for one or even think that they would even offer it. I was very impressed. When we got to the resort they have been extremely easy to deal with and everything has gone very convenient. My point to the overly ridiculously long review is that Silver Surf has earned my families travel business into Bradenton every single trip. They have went well above and beyond the standard to make our stay a phonominal experience. Ive never received that type of caring service from other restort ever. A great place at a reasonable cost for Anna Maria Island!

We are midway through our fourth stay here, and once again, we're loving it! Nothing fancy or pretentious, but the rooms are moderately large and are very well-designed, having a very large amount of storage space for long stays.

The cleaning staff is awesome!! Wish we could take one of them home with us!! Despite the sand from the beach, the staff does an excellent job of cleaning the rooms, daily if you wish. The rooms are VERY clean!! I'd give the cleaning staff six stars if it was possible!!

The beds are the best I've ever slept in!!! They are so good, that we asked the staff what brand and model they are, so we know what do get when we have to replace our bed at home!

Although the office closes at 5 PM, the staff is VERY helpful and the service excellent!! They carried most of our stuff up the stairs for us since their elevator broke down and we're getting older!

They also have a couple large grills at a grilling area for those that don't want to eat out.

The pool is very nice, clean and warm, and their private beach, just across the street, is VERY nice. They supply and set up beach lounges, umbrellas, and you get fresh beach towels every day if you wish. All you have to bring is yourself and your favorite libations!!

A few minor issues:

The shower stalls have half a wall and the other half is open, so it is very hard not to have water spray on to the bathroom floor. Shower curtains would help!

A few more electrical outlets in the rooms would be nice, since folks have so many electronics nowadays.

A second smoking area would be helpful.

But over all, this place is superb!!! The best measure of customer satisfaction is "would you come back here?" For us, the answer is a resounding YES!! Our fourth time, and each stay for longer...
