I went here with my significant other on July 10th at around 10:25am. We were looking to pick up an umbrella for the beach. We noticed we were one of the few people on our vacation wearing masks during COVID-19. While everyone has their own opinion about wearing masks, I'm respectful on what others think and feel about it and understand that it is each individual's own choice on whether or not they want to wear one. However, as soon as walked in, the cashier yells at us and says, "We don't have any cash!" and raises his hands. We were confused and he said it again. Everyone (about six people) looked at us as my significant other and I were still standing by the door. We realized he said it because him and no one else in the shop was wearing a mask, and he identified us as burglars because we were wearing ours and he couldn't completely see our faces. It was disrespectful and we left immediately. We didn't even get to look around and while it spoiled the moment, the rest of our trip was enjoyable. I'm not sure if this gentleman was the cashier or manager, but a welcome or hello as soon as customers walk in would show some kindness and courtesy instead of humiliating people for...
Read moreMy husband and I were on vacation this past week and stopped into the green turtle shell and gift shop after lunch at wicked cantina. As we walked into a shop, the cashier was sitting in one of the beach chairs by the door eating her lunch. We we're wearing our masks, said hello and started browsing. Another customer entered shortly behind us and asked if you needed to have a mask on to shop there. The cashier politely answered and said "Oh no, it's not required" and the customer replied "Oh good, thank goodness because I didn't want to go put that thing on". That is completely valid and normal banter. I completely understand but the cashier took it a step further and loudly stated, "Actually, we'd prefer it if our customers wouldn't wear them inside at all." Then she glanced over at us. For the life of me, I do not understand why our masks were so triggering. I do realize a lot of folks in that area don't wear masks and that's their business. I've never had that situation happen to me before. We took the...
Read moreFun little gift shop with a wide selection of reasonably priced items. The ladies were very nice and engaged my children in conversation while we were shopping. It wasn't until a few days later that I experienced their exceptional customer service. Unfortunately, the sand dollar earrings my daughter purchased with babysitting money broke on the trip home to Nebraska. I called the shop the next day to see if I could purchase another pair and pay to get them shipped. The owner could not have been kinder and agreed to send another pair at no cost. A week later, not one, but two sets of well packaged earrings arrived along with a very sweet note to my daughter. This is customer service...
