I and my wife did a road trip across four states and put up in seven (7) hotels along the way and “The lodge hotels and Suites St. Louis” was the most pricey and was by far the worst not just for this trip but in all hotels I have ever been to. We arrived late at about 9:09 PM and when I got to the front desk, it was empty (and without any notice and no bell) waiting for a while and still no staff. I had to call out loud “hellooo” and then a voice from an adjacent room answered “coming”. The front desk staff came eventually. There was no staff to help with our bags, he just point to the cart when I asked it we could get help with our bags (for over a $100/night). As I entered in to elevator, I noticed it was completely filthy, with some sort of liquid spilled on the front wall and the control unit. When we got to the room, upon entering, non of the lights were working, we had to make use of our phone light we flickered all the switches we saw and no light except for the light on the dresser mirror by the sink and bathroom light. Later found that the bed side lamps were working. I can bet that the bed covers were not changed from when ever the last guest stayed in that room, my honest guess is the room service only stretched out the bed covers. There was human hair everywhere. When we pulled the bed covers for each beds we found hair strands underneath and I even found string candy underneath the cover of one of the beds (we had to spread our own duvets over the beds as cover so we are not lying on their unwashed bed covers), there was even hair strands inside the microwave (I don’t know how or what that was doing there). The bath tub and walls have never been scrubbed at least I doubt it has been this year, the walls had filth and hair strands on it and all kinds of gunks stuck to the wall the faucets were dirty with some sort of whitish sediments on them that you can tell a simple cleaning with a rag or sponge will remove (except for the sink faucet which was clean). The room had an ironing board but no pressing iron( don’t know maybe guests would have to request one) the wardrobe in the room had no hanger/crossing bar in it, and was terribly dusty inside and outside, the air conditioning unit’s cover was barely hanging. We pulled the bed stand table to plug our charger and the filth behind it was unimaginable. There was a hole that seemed like a rodent hole in the dry wall in the area where the sink was, (didn’t notice that until in the morning), the cover for the fluorescent bulbs over the mirror by the sink was terribly dusty and also so spots were some sort of colored liquid splashed and was never cleaned on it but had dried over time. At about midnight, someone started banging hard on our door waking me and my wife, we just starred at each other confused the banging went on for like 10 - 15 seconds or maybe longer and then we thought we were go to get robbed, until we heard a voice from a distance say “will you leave there, why are you disturbing them” and the banging stopped and the person walked in the direction towards the voice...
Read moreThis is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at in my life. A circuit breaker tripped in my room so I called the front desk and asked them to fix it. After an hour of no power in my room and no call back from the front desk. I went down to the front desk myself to ask what was going on. The very dismissive man at the front desk said he was looking for a key to get into a circuit breaker room but couldn't find it and probably wouldn't. So I went back upstairs for another hour. After hearing nothing, I went back downstairs and asked what was going on again. He said he couldn't find the key and it would probably be out until Monday. This is on a Saturday. I had food and medication in a mini fridge in the room that now didn't work. I asked for the manager and he said he was the only employee working on a Saturday afternoon in a very large hotel but would give me the manager's number. I called her and told her the situation and simply asked if she knew where the breaker room key was that I didn't even mind flipping the circuit breaker myself. If I could just get access to it. All she seemed concerned about was how I got her number. After another 2 hours of waiting, now I've been out of power for 4 hours, I went back to the front desk to see if anything was been done and it just so happened that the owner of the hotel was on the line. He SCREAMED at me over the phone told me I can get my stuff and leave because he had no control over the circuit breakers in the hotel he owns. He cursed at me several times despite me never raising my voice or cursing at him. It's the worst customer service I've ever experienced not just at any hotel, but any other functional business, in my life. They should have their business license revoked, no one should ever pay a dime to stay here again. The rooms themselves are outdated, stained, the Wi-Fi literally only works if you're on on the first floor and there are four floors. The owner and the staff should be ashamed...
Read moreMy father suddenly and unexpectedly passed away January 26th. Needless to say I was in a state. Unfamiliar with the St. Louis area surrounding the airport, I was trying to book a room for 3 nights ASAP. I booked through Agoda, thinking I would save money as I had to book a last minute flight and tickets were outrageous. Through tears and frustration, I booked a room at this hotel BEFORE reading the horrible reviews. (Bedbugs, safety concerns, urine smells, etc.) AND the cancellation policy. My mistake. As I was traveling alone and I am a senior citizen, I was wary. After cancelling and trying in vain to appeal to the hotel (through AGODA) to at least maybe receive a partial refund, I was bluntly told NO. No refund, not even a slight consideration for my situation. Horrible customer service. Horrible policy. I will never book a room at this hotel or...
