Waffle House — Restaurant in Bridgeton

Mixed emotions on this one. It was 900pm on a Saturday night. We were traveling. Surprisingly a lot of places were closed. Waffle House was open. Went in and hmmmmm well....

Someone left a joint sitting on the ledge of the window. He ran out and smoked it as I walked in. Half the dining room was shut down. Lots of dirty plates on napkins on the counter. Two people working. One cooking the other taking orders. One guy was scratching furiously at the counter and he even had a few scratch offs to scratch too who was not a customer but ate off a plate that was left on the counter. I'm assuming it was his because there was a balled up napkin on the plate. There was a couple in a booth that tried to dine and dash. The lady cooking caught them and yelled at them so they paid. I ordered food. It was made quickly and I left (it was take out and there was no way we were dining in anywyas). The food was ok but given everything else we won't visit this...

First time dining at WaffleHouse and this one - the staff are super friendly - we were well looked after. Seated straight away - love the fact that you can see your food being cooked. Menu was explained as we have Dairy free family members and we all managed to eat here. Will be some cross contamination as they use the same grill. But we didnt have any issues afterwards.

The food is good - bacon is a bit greasy - just an FYI but crispy, crispy!!!

Free refills (we didn't know that was a thing in the US) and our server was amazing!

Restaurant was clean. Didn't visit the facilities...

The scrambled eggs are actually cracked fresh from the shell and cooked on the grill unlike generic eggs poured from a carton. My scrambled eggs was so hot and fresh that I had to blow on them before I could eat them. Plus the waffles were light and fluffy and buttery good. With maple syrup. The food staff were nice. I left a tip before I left even though my scrambled eggs and waffles was a takeout order. The food is cooked right in front of you. Waffle House food quality and great taste is much better than Steak N Shake that you won't believe the price ranges of breakfast...
