I have shopped at this Aldi for years. I am writing this review in terms of how they operate during the current pandemic. I am a 72 year old and initially I went into the store to shop for my groceries. In the beginning, Aldi had 2 employees outside the store. One was wiping off shopping carts and distributing them, the other was spacing out the entry to the store. Masks were and still are required to enter Aldi. Well into the pandemic Aldi placed one way markers on the floors. I stopped going into Aldi to shop when the numbers of infected began to rise exponentially. At that point, I used Instacart or Walmart's pickup service. After I received my 2nd Covid shot, I began to return to in store shopping at Aldi. I usually go when the store traffic is the lightest. They have designated Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM as Senior Hour/Immunity Impaired. I went yesterday at 8:30 AM. Some changes from the last time I went. 1) No employees outside the store wiping down carts or regulating entry into the store 2) Previously you weren't allowed to bring in your own bags, now you can. When I entered the store there were 2 other people waiting to go in. There were so few people in the store that I took my time and bought much more than my short list. I really didn't get close to anyone while I was shopping. There were no people ahead of me in the single line where a cashier was. I saw the cashier wipe off a cart that he used for my groceries. When he was finished checking me out, I moved my empty cart where the extra one had been that he wiped off. So, he was giving me a cart that had been wiped. Everyone in the store had on masks, and from what I could see, was observing social distancing. I have always like Aldi, and found the prices at this Aldi to be quite competitive and in some instances, less than Walmart. I am comfortable shopping...
Read moreThis is my go to Aldi. I shop here weekly and look forward to the special buys that change weekly.
Shopping at Aldi keeps me focused on the food versus bigger multi stores where I get carried away buying unnecessary stuff. The outside aisles perimeter is mainly fresh items and nicely presented. I buy their produce and it's fresh and tasty. (Don't be mistaken this isn't superior quality like you will find in a Schnucks or Dierbergs, but it's good).
I love their premade dip selections. They have quite a few options ranging from Mexicali, Spinach Artichoke, Hummus, and other specialty flavors. This is my go to to bring to parties and get togethers. You will not find these dips at other big box stores.
I buy their meat and have always had good meat. Beef, chicken and seafood. Nice quality.
The paper goods are much more cost effective than other stores. I buy all my baggies, foil, wax paper, etc. here.
This store is clean and as stocked as can be. It's been harder in current times. I recommend going early in the day if you can before the shelves clear out.
Checking out is super fast! You pack your own bags, I recommend bringing your reusable bags. You can also purchase bags...
Read moreWords can not express how much I enjoy shopping at Aldi. Every time I go, I see smiling, efficient cashiers and everyone who works there seems really focused on doing their best to please the customer. The food is excellent quality, the aisle of shame is so much fun, and I'm gonna keep shopping here. Some grocery stores have cashiers who seem angry with every customer, but the Aldi crew seem genuinely interested in making customers happy. I was in the Bridgeton store today, and it was busy. One of the young gentlemen ringing at Lane 2 directed the next folks in line to Lane 1, but after 2-3 minutes, realized that the cashier he anticipated going to that register was actually at another lane. The young man apologized, and jumped onto Lane 1 to ring the order for the waiting customer! Then he popped back over to resume ringing at his original register. Any other grocery store that I have been to would have just redirected the customer to another lane. Only at Aldi would you see this kind of energetic, cheerful service.. Thank you,...
