I ordered the L 7. Hot braised Chicken from what he said was the lunch special but the menu calls it the "Combo Playyers"..? It came with Fired Rice and two Crab Rangoon (the menu says one) as well as a pre-packaged fortune cookie. Starting off the price was $5.95 after tax. When I got the food to work and opened the nice white plastic container with a clear plastic lid I noticed that The sauce for the hot braised chicken was not covering all the chicken. Normally when I order this dish else where it is at least covering all the chicken or even smothering it. That aside it tasted ok. It was nothing to write home about. It wasn't really spicy at all and to be honest I have had MUCH better from another St.Louis Chop Suey off of N. Lindbergh in Florrisant, MO. The fried rice was just that.. It had no meat in it.. It was very dark like either it was over cooked or too much Soy sauce was used. One of the biggest things that struck me as strange was that usually when I get Chinese takeout the portion size to the price is amazing.. Not so much here. The plastic container that they used is noticeably smaller than normal portion sizes. It was just OK overall and filled a hole in my hungry stomach for lunch. My advice is to look else where since there are so many choices in such a small area. But if you are in a bind or just are happy with OK food then this is the...
Read moreThe man who answered the phone to take my order was BARELY able to speak English. That didn't stop him from swearing at me whenever I asked a couple questions. Not acceptable. His comment was "Jesus... I'm busy!". I'll never go back. I'm from out of town, hence the questions which were all coming from the online menu. He snapped that I must be looking at an old menu. Maybe have someone UPDATE it?? He kept saying he couldn't hear me, but again, that didn't stop him from talking over me. The food was average, egg fu yung was swimming in the "gravy" instead of being in a container of its own, so it had spilled out over everything else in the bag. I asked for a receipt for my order, didn't get one. I did get a receipt for my card purchase. My understanding is that this place has been there for quite some time, but I'm not sure how or why. The food isn't THAT good & the guy they have answering the phone is rude, has no people skills & no real grasp of English. This is a senior apartment building & when he came to the door, he banged on it & about 5 seconds later, did it again. There are very few people living in this complex that can get to the door that fast. I definitely won't use this restaurant again, and don't recommend it to...
Read moreI’ve have been to several Chinese places, this one is by far from the best! So 3 things! 1.good price but The beef fried rice was not vary good, I added their soy sauce and it only made it worse. I used different soy sauce, if it wasn’t for the other restaurant soy sauce I would not have ate it. 2.I also got a large Wong tong soup which I love. But for 6 dollars I was a bit hesitant. First thing I noticed was it not even full, that I couldn’t really see the wontons. For 6$ I got a whopping 2 Wong tongs! I could never justify spending 6 bucks for 2 mangled won tons in a 32 oz container filled 3/4ths! Last but certainly not least, the fried Wong tons! Wasn’t overpriced, tasted great, along with their sweet n sour sauce.
Would try again but definitely wouldn’t recommend the fried rice, won ton soup, and...
