The only upside is the history of the building and how close it is to the beach, literally it. Other than that, we were registered to stay for 6 days. We didn’t even stay 6 hours. You first have to fight to get into the parking lot to find a spot or circle around the streets forever to find one. The bar/restaurant next door takes over the lot and it’s a $h!t show. When you actually make it in, the lobby is nice, you can tell that’s the only portion they spent money on. The woman at the desk was polite. It’s all downhill from here… We took a tour of the bottom floor. Game room was mehhh, but it’s whatever. Had a claw game that we were going to play, but I didn’t want to win the ONLY prize and take it away from the next kid that would want to play. Had to navigate through the entire building to find the indoor pool. The entire time, we felt like we were somewhere we weren’t supposed to be. It was like the scene from Titanic when they were running through the ship. Got to the pool, took 3 people to figure out how to open the door. Water looked dirty, was sizzling (?), the whole place stunk and probably 182.9 degrees Fahrenheit in there. No thanks. The elevators were both sketchy and felt as if they might not make it much longer. As soon as the door open to our floor, it was about 96.2 degrees Fahrenheit in the hallway and smelt like Kevin from The Office spilt his pot of chili and no one cleaned it up. For 7 years. No arrows showing which room numbers are where, so process of elimination to find our room. Had to shoulder the damn door open to get in. Finally, our room awaits us.. Looked nothing like the photos online and smelt like whatever died in the room, was still in there. This was worse than a Rutgers frat house landlord renovation. I would bet $100 that the furniture came from every NJ Freecycling page on Facebook. Including the carpet. Terrible looking, feeling, smelling and I think Helen Keller installed it. My kid literally tripped twice because of the speed bumps into the room. (See photos). Considered strangling myself with the 39FT long light fixture cord hanging from the ceiling. We were so upset we just wanted to get out, so we went to the beach. On the way out the door, I asked the woman at the front desk if we could upgrade to a better room. She seemed dumbfounded that I asked because apparently I was in the best room they had…? Told me there is no better room. I went on with my day. Went to the beach. Came back and took a shower, ended getting some blonde woman’s hair on me in the shower. (My wife is a brunette…not good). Rust on the fixtures in the bathroom. We packed our stuff and left. Before leaving, we went to the desk to check out and told the guy at the counter that we were leaving. Only checking in 3 hours beforehand. His response: “I gotchu”. So seeing as he didn’t care to ask as to why we were leaving, I told him everything. His second response: “I feel you”. I told him that this was the worst experience I’ve literally ever had and asked if I’m good to leave. His third and final response: “You’re good”. Omfg, get me out of here and as far away as possible. Labor Day weekend ruined. Stay away if possible.

A True Legacy of Kindness and Care As a woman born and raised in the inner city of Baltimore and the founder of a grassroots organization focused on violence prevention, harm reduction, relationship retention, and workforce development, life has taught me to pour into others—even when navigating storms of my own. Leading a fairly new organization while grieving the loss of two biological sisters just months ago (February and March 2025), and recently closing a 37½-year chapter of raising children (starting at only 8 years old), I was spiritually and emotionally exhausted. So when I say this trip to Legacy Brigantine Beach Club was well needed—I mean that with my whole heart. What I didn’t expect was to receive the same energy I give out daily—but I experienced it firsthand from the moment I walked through the door. It started with Key, the front desk agent, who greeted me with such softness and professionalism. Her gentle spirit made it easy to engage in conversation, and I could already feel a shift. Then I turned to my right and was warmly welcomed by Lisa, the resort property manager, who not only greeted me with a beautiful smile but also handed me a thoughtful welcome gift. To my left was Mable, who also smiled warmly and made me feel genuinely seen and appreciated. I know resorts often provide welcome packages, but the way Lisa handed mine over made it feel like she personally picked it just for me. Being treated kindly, respectfully, and with genuine warmth in every encounter across the property reminds me how powerful good leadership is. And coming from a leader—I recognize it when I see it. Lisa’s leadership is clearly reflected in the way her staff consistently practices exceptional customer service. Whether I’m asking questions, walking through the building, or just pausing to take in the moment—I’m met with patience and care. I’m still enjoying my stay, but I felt led to write this pre-post because I already know I’ll have even more good things to say. Sometimes there are no words to describe the kind of impression someone leaves on your heart—but I’ll say this: Legacy reminded me that kindness still exists, and that when it's reciprocated naturally, it’s deeply healing. Thank you for helping me maximize my peace, my joy, and my restoration. Now let me go get ready for a dip! I was not happy overall with my stay here. We arrived 30 minutes earlier than the check-in time at 4pm and did a quick check-in at the front desk to let them know we were there. The front desk took our names, we paid, and they informed us our room was being cleaned as we spoke and would most likely be ready before 4. We waited in the small game room. At 4:15, I hadn't received a text saying our room was ready, so I went to the front desk to inquire about it. She immediately said, we're giving you an upgrade to a larger room. We got the keys and went to the room. It was a nice 1 bedroom with a pull out couch and small kitchen. We noticed immediately that the toilet was broken, so I went to tell them I wanted the room we originally booked. They said it was already taken. That began my journey of visiting various rooms throughout the hotel to find one that was to my liking since the room I originally booked was gone. 6 rooms later, (2-the key didn't work because the scanner battery was dead, 2-located two steps away from the elevator doors, 1 had workers stuff in it and the last was in a dark corner located right next to the game room) the front desk clerk gave me a key to a penthouse on the top floor. An hour after we checked in, we finally had a room. I never went through such an ordeal. The place is a little run down and could use updating. All of the rooms I was able to see had something that could use repair or updating. I appreciate the help of the front desk clerk on shift that Friday night. She was alone from what I could see. My kids enjoyed the indoor pool and the fact that it was open until 10 pm, but that alone would not tempt me to book with this hotel again.

My stay was just OK because the hotel is right on the beach. It was my birthday weekend and my boyfriend and I took a much needed vacation for 4 nights. I booked through Hotels.com and booked a queen efficiency suite and upgraded to a large 1BR Queen suite with a patio for an additional cost . We arrived and were given a room in the annex building. The parking lot smelled of urine and the elevator shook. We got to our room and we were pleasantly surprised because it was large and spacious. There were double sinks in the bathroom and you can enter from the kitchen and from the bedroom. There were lots of countertops in the bathroom to make any woman happy. The room had a musty damp smell so we tried to open the patio but it was nailed shut and a sign posted stated patio cannot be opened. We also noticed a large swarm of fruit flies as well as house flies. We called the front desk to inform them of the issue and asked about the patio. We were informed that the patio was off limits due to an inspection issue. A maintenance man was sent up to handle the pest problem. He arrived to our room with a spray bottle with unknown chemical solution and began spraying the kitchen before we stopped him due to my allergy/asthma problem. We asked him to spray only the area by the garbage cans. WE figured we make the most of the vacation since we were way overdue for one. We found out later that the toilet bowl wobbled from side to side when it's sat upon. The flies infestation was infuriating and we could not set a glass of liquid down for more than a few minutes before half dozen flies made their attack. We woke up next morning (my birthday), and my boyfriend started to prepare a breakfast of french toast, bacon, eggs and coffee. He turned the range top on and only one worked and it barely heated at that. The coils simply did not turn hot. The coffee pot was dirty and the heating plate was burnt and smelled of burnt coffee throughout the entire room. We called the front desk again. We were offered to look at 2 other rooms in the main building. The first one was tiny and the kitchen was a mess...and the stove did not work (I tried it). The 2nd room was a little better than the first, but it was smaller than the upgraded 1BR Queen suite we paid for. The kitchen appliances appeared to be newer so we assumed the stove would by in working order. The bathroom was tiny but clean, so we decided to take it as we did not want to spend our vacation moving from room to room. We packed up and moved to the main building. Later that night we got a little hungry and decided to make grilled cheese sandwiches only to find out that this stove also didn't work. We tried using the broiler but that was so splattered with grease that it started to smell and smoke. Fearing that the sprinkler would be activated we turned everything off and called the front desk again. We asked for a manager but were told one wasn't on until the morning. We told them we were going to leave and wanted a refund. Next morning we decided to make the most of this vacation and I started to investigate why the darn stovetop wouldn't work. I inspected the burner coils and realized none of them were attached to the heating elements that would allow them to get hot. I attached them and got 2 to work. The restaurant/bar that the hotel partnered with brought in a lot of people and that takes away parking spots that should be for hotel guests. On our final day at this hotel, I called twice to speak with a manager and I didn't get a response until we were already home 2 hours away. The manager was very apologetic and offered us a 150.00 refund. We spent 4 nights and paid extra for a large suite with a patio and didn't get that. A 150.00 was nothing. In closing, this is a beautiful old hotel that is right on the beach and with good maintenance this could be a great hotel to stay at. We definitely visit again if improvements are made. The beach was beautiful and we have a...

First, this is absolutely in no way a resort. This is a typical outdated jersey shore motel. We are no strangers to the Jersey shore and what to expect. We decided to treat ourselves and spend the extra money to enjoy this “resort”. The location is fantastic and so is Laguna Grill & Rum Bar. Our first impression from outside when we arrived was the motel is very outdated, but we were trying to stay positive. We were pleasantly surprised when we entered the lobby which was maintained nice and clean. I was concerned at check in because there was a couple in the lobby who were receiving a refund because their accommodations were unacceptable. The husband was talking to the motel staff and the wife was on the phone trying to find another place to stay. We checked in with no issues, but when we were given our room key, I had to return to the desk twice because the key did not work. I returned the first time and was given a different key card and told to try that. When I had to return to the desk a second time because it still was not working, I was treated as though I was doing something wrong until the woman at the front desk tried for herself and said the keypad on the door needed to be repaired by maintenance and that we would have to wait. We sat and watched two maintenance men try to break in our room. First from the outside, then try to fix the issue once inside. All this seemed normal for guests to have to go through prior to entering their room because when I asked the woman at the desk how long this would take because we had plans, she clearly thought I was being unreasonable. Finally, we were moved to a different room on the 8th floor. To say the elevators are slow is an understatement. Be prepared to wait at least 15 minutes. On the second day of our stay one elevator completely broke down and an elderly man was trapped for over an hour and needed to be rescued by the fire department. Upon entering our room on the 8th floor, the first thing we noticed was the strong smell of smoke (after signing a document at check in that we would be charged a $500 cleaning fee if we smoked in the room). The second thing we noticed was the security lock on the front door was broken and totally useless. The door opened and closed with ease even when the lock was on (I took a video of this). The carpet was wrinkled and torn in places, the paint was peeling from the walls, ceiling and windowsills, there was a thick layer of dust on top of the fridge. The entire kitchen and appliances did not appear to have been cleaned after the last use, the blinds were broken, and the couch was torn. The windowsills were dirty. The bed, blankets and sheets were clean and so was the bathroom (aside from the bath towels smelling like smoke and the broken tiles). I called the front desk and told them it smelled like someone had been smoking and the man who answered the phone said, “we will look into it”. We made the best of it, but it was not a comfortable stay, and we absolutely did not get what we paid for. If you book based on the photos and videos on the website, be aware it is false advertisement, you are not getting what you would expect for the “resort” prices they charge. At checkout there were two people waiting because the hotel could not find their reservation and there was another couple complaining they could not stay in the room they were given and wanted a refund. The woman behind the desk was being incredibly rude and didn’t seem to care at all about what these people were going through. When it was my turn to check out, I tried to talk to her about my concerns and I was completely ignored and handed my receipt. Overall, it was an extremely...
