As a local, this is the go to place on the island and prices are reasonable considering it is the only liquor store. I came in this evening to get a case a beer, and walked in to have one of the 3 employees working swinging a wiffle ball bat right at the front door. Not a big deal in a beach town - the other 2 women behind the counter did not look up as one was reading a book and the other on her laptop. I grabbed my beer and walked to the counter, yet had to ask which register to go to. The woman with the book looked up reluctantly and said she would ring me out. After taking my payment, she began to lecture me that if I return with my dog, I should carry her as there is broken glass all over the store and it is a hazard. I was surprised as this store had always been so kind to their customers and eagerly welcoming of customers shopping with pets. I saw a new sign saying pets not welcome, which I learned is a new change and totally at the discretion of owners. I would imagine the hazardous glass would be a higher priority. Either way, we will now go to the Cove for packages goods despite a...

There's a large selection of wine, spirits, beer and a few Belgian style ales. Everything is reasonably priced ... especially considering you're on an island and likely on vacation. Be careful not to paint yourself a tourist by driving the wrong way (12th and 13th are one way) parking adjacent to Ocean Beverage on the...
Read moreCalled because it said they closed at 11pm. They said no, it's actually 10pm we close. No big deal. I get there at 9:50pm and doors are locked. I called and they answered immediately and asked "I thought you guys close at 10pm?". They respond "oh, we are actually closed now". Seriously? It takes 2 minutes to go in and buy what was needed. Not to mention, you're closing 10 minutes early, and you just took a call from a potential customer 20 minutes ago. Clearly a last minute...
