My husband and I booked a king bed room through the official Hampton Inn website and paid at the time of booking. When we were checking in, at first they couldn’t find our reservation and asked if we booked through a third party. We said no we booked directly through the hotel website, which then prompted them to find our reservation. Then we were told that the room type we had booked was unavailable due to being overbooked, and were put in a different room with two queen beds. They tried to charge us again for the room that night, and we explained that we had already paid in full for the room when we made the reservation online. They told us they were able to find that we paid, and gave us our keys. At this point we were a bit frustrated, but understand that things happen. In the morning we checked out, and they said everything was good to go. As we were driving home, we got two declined charges on our card from the hotel trying to charge us full price again for the room that we had already paid for. My husband called the hotel. We explain that we already paid, and this is the third time they had tried to charge us after we had paid. They said they would take care of it and ended the call. We felt it was very unprofessional that the hotel tried to charge us three extra times for a room reservation that wasn’t even the room type we originally booked. We weren’t offered any apology regarding the room type or being charged multiple times due to their error. The room itself was fine, but did have some cracks in the wall and the sound proofing wasn’t great. We want to warn others to check your bank account and make sure you aren’t being charged double or triple for a reservation at this hotel. We thought that with booking directly through the hotel website that everything would run smoothly, but that was not the case for us. We will not be returning to this hotel and...
Read moreI have stayed at the Brigham City Hampton before. I like that the location is just off Main Street downtown, and a few miles from the interstate noise. Brigham City is a nice small town, and the downtown is clean and inviting. The staff were very friendly and helpful getting my bags and myself into the room. I am a handicapped traveler, and this hotel like most has a handicapped room seemly designed by someone who is not handicapped. Although on the first floor, the room is located all the way down the end of the hall near the back door. I have a lot of difficulty walking so just walking from a handicapped parking spot out front to the desk is a chore. Then told to drive around to the back door to access my room. The back door entrance had enough of a grade to make it even more difficult for me. At one time it was no issue and an easy 30 feet. But now its like 30 miles for me. Fortunately the lady at the desk came down and brought my bags into the room and held the door for me. Like most hotel doors, the commercial door closer springs are set too heavy and make it difficult for a person with mobility, strength and balance. issues. This was true on my handicapped room door. Another common issue for handicapped that was true in my room was the low seat height of the toilet. I carry my own toilet riser on trips and needed it here or else I would not have been able to stand. Although there are grab bars, they are not positioned for the best mechanical advantage when you stand. I am hoping this review will help another handicapped traveler. I would stay here again since I know what to expect now and how to...
Read moreSome good and some not so good. Stay was two night's
The good
Breakfast was a good assortment of items, hot side was western omalet, bacon, 2 flavors of waffles oatmeal and toast, beagles. There was an assortment of muffins, cereals, juices, coffee and tea. Next morning was scrambled eggs and sausage patty.
The evening front desk gal was awsome didn't get her name but she had purple hair. She made our stay better.
Coffeemaker and refrigerator in room
Location was close to many conveniences
The not so good and just bad,
The room was just bad,
Keep in mind This was booked in advance and not just a same day check in and not an early check in either. we wanted to rest after traveling so we opened up the beds and there was hair, what looked like dirt and other not so pleasant things on the sheets. Went to front desk and she sent housekeeping up to change bedding, the thermostat did nothing I had to use the control on the unit. The room was just dirty. The bed skirt had stains, Things under bed and other items in the room like an old apple. No housekeeping the next day either. So back down to the front desk for towels and soap. The walls had bad repairs and where gross. The bathroom door was kind of weird as it was a sliding door that also covered the closet so when you open it after using the bathroom if someone is reaching in the closet you sqush them with the door. I could add more but I'm not going too.
The overall hotel has nice, clean and well maintained. With exception to our room. No...
