I was looking for a hotel to get a block of rooms at for my son's wedding. We had a lot of family and friends coming from out of town/state, including myself, so I wanted us to all be together. When I booked the blocking it said on the website there was renovations being done that will be completed by May 1st. With the wedding being June 1st, I was excited about the hotel being freshly updated. The website now says June 30th. Upon arrival to the parking lot, my heart sank when I saw all the shipping containers throughout the lot. When I entered the lobby, the place was a mess. Drywall dust everywhere. Tools, ladders and bags of cement littered through the hallway. I was utterly embarrassed that I booked here and now my family and friends had to endure this inconvenience. The pool was also closed for maintenance, but thankfully opened the second day. My husband and I have once flipped houses for a living and also completely renovated every house we lived in. No one understands more than we do construction zones. This place had drywall dust everywhere even in the evenings. It should have been cleaned several times through the day, but for sure before the end of the day. There was an area where they cut the carpet, so there was a quick transition of carpet then cement then tile. I watched a guest pushing an elderly lady in a wheelchair and the poor woman almost flipped out the chair! I said something the to lady at the desk and she said back loudly and rude something like it wasnt her problem its the construction company that's supposed to clean everything. Well if they dont, then the hotel should take on the responsibility to make sure the environment is safe for the guests! We got a room for my son and his best man and there was a drunken party that was going on until the wee hours of the morning. He was texting me because they were calling the front desk over and over and no one ever picked up. I talked to the manager the next morning and was told there was a Bachelorette party and they were all drunk and had several complaints but they wouldn't quiet down. I don't know, then call the cops? It was ridiculous. The rooms were brand new but there was a shortage of towels and not the cleanest. My husband and I had 2 queens. The first one we pulled back the covers and there was hair in the sheets so luckily we had the other bed. I had several friends and family complain that they only had one or two towels in their room for 3 or 4 people. When they would call and ask for more or catch hospitality in the hall, they were met with a snarky "Well how many guests are there? We don't have anymore towels were out!" This is a Hilton Hampton Inn for goodness sake not a Red Roof Inn. Shouldn't they have a plethora of overstock of towels?? What happened to customer service and being approachable?? The breakfast was good when the workers kept it stocked. I am an airbnb host and I don't take reviews lightly, but I think 3 stars is being generous. Overall it was a...
Read moreMy review is based solely on the unprofessionalism of the general manager Jose. When trying to book a hotel block for a wedding, which is to accommodate most of the guests being from out of state and needing us to hold at least 20 rooms-his response was his policy is to only hold 10, unless we pre pay for the rooms on one credit card. While I can understand policies are made in reaction to past experiences, even when I said "could we book the first ten, then put the courtesy hold on an additional 10 so the other guests can book their own"? He was unwilling to budge. He tried to tell me what other hotels' policies were, citing the Holiday Inn Express across the street, which I had already spoken to that very morning. When I tried to correct him on the error in what he was telling me about Holiday Inn Express-which he obviously did not understand, he would not let me finish. When I asked if I could please finish my sentence without being cut off, he said No, have a good day and hung up on me. As someone representing HIlton, I found him to be rude and a disgrace to the Hilton Brand. In a time where the travel industry is already hurting, I would think that me offering to book 20 rooms for multiple days for my out of state travelers would be welcome. Sadly, I even shared with the front desk member, that Holiday Inn offered $10 less per night for suites, but had less availability due to being booked. I am willing to pay more for a room per night-if we were guaranteed to all be in the same place. Looks like our revenue will not be going to Hilton. Now or ever at...
Read moreAs good as their reviews are, this hotel is wildly underrated. After having to spend a month away from my home due to mold remediation and remodeling along with my sister, I was happy to leave the hotel, but once I got back home.. I'm not gonna lie, I kinda wanted to go back to the Hampton Inn! First and foremost, it's extremely clean. I'm a certified germaphobe. My house is virtually a negative pressure room and this was the first time I can remember spending less than $3-500 a night in a hotel that I definitely inspected and wasn't the slightest bit concerned about. Shoutouts to the housekeeping staff, they don't cut corners anywhere and trust me, I looked! The front desk staff and management conducted themselves as though they were working the front desk at the Waldorf Astoria but knew when to be casual and still kept it professional. And the breakfast was excellent every single day. The woman who I saw there every morning ran back and forth like her life depended on any of the food getting too low. The place runs like clockwork and no offense to Yorkville, but this doesn't feel like Yorkville. And it surely doesn't feel like a 2.5 or 3 star hotel as every hotel in that class I've ever stayed in isn't nearly as nice. Even at full price, this place is a bargain and I'm puzzled by any negative reviews. I'll just assume those people were simply having a bad day and needed something to complain about because the Hampton Inn surely isn't worthy of anything but a five...
