American Legion — Attraction in Bristol Township

On May 31st 2024, we hosted my brother Mick Peterson Celebration of life at the Yorkville American Legion post. Everyone involved with the program was so helpful. They showed me what the American Legion is about. They cared about my family. They respected and honored my brothers previous service as a police officer. They made difficult decisions easy by giving suggestions and ideas on setting up, decorating etc. My family has lived in this community for 50 years and I guess I always knew the American Legion was a part of the community but I now understand that they truly represent what's great about our Nation. I salute you all and respect you even more now. You are a true asset to Yorkville and our surrounding communities. Heros don't stop being heros when they stop wearing the uniforms. We still see you.
