We have been staying at this hotel for the last 18 years. It is convenient, clean and nearby and the help has always been so nice. Through the years, we have had no problem of which room but in the last 5 years or so, our knees and other health issues have caught up to us. I always request and have gotten a room on main floor as we cannot handle stairs, especially with luggage. We arrived shortly after 5 and was given a room on the 2nd floor.. Mind you, I made this reservation over 2 months ago and made request for main floor because of health problems. The girl offered us 3 choices--cancel our room (where do you go on Fri night without reservation?); take second floor and she would carry luggage up (people were waiting to check in...and they all had 2nd floor also); or give us handicapped room on main floor. Our only handicap is our knees what if someone who is truly handicapped and needed that room, we would feel terrible.) We stayed in the original room and managed to get our luggage up. But we paid for it all weekend.. Had coffee with some people in morning at least 20 years younger and did not care what rooms or floor they had. She must have just filled first floor first regardless of requests. My daughter and her husband also requested main floor as he is just recovering from foot surgery and had baby They ended up next to us||We were there for a special family celebration and those steps made for a very painful time. Icing did not do the trick. It will probably be the last time we stay there...we cannot chance getting 2nd floor again. If stairs are not a problem you are ok here but be warned if you have knee or back problems. . Through the years, the help has been so friendly but when I went to get receipt on Sunday morn, the clerk made no eye contact or said a word. I guess all good things must sadly come to an end . 18 years of Loyalty...
Read moreI loved my stay here! Housekeeping comes in every day make sure my bed is made and I have a new towels and empty my garbage. The price very decent for everything. I get it is a small hotel but all I need is a place to sleep every night to work every day. My only concern is the bathroom is a little tight. I wish I was a little more room. I’ve been here for approximately three weeks now I was at the Montcler Hotel for the first week. I definitely say that this place is WAY better, no comparison and the other hotel was way more in price. I love the big flatscreen TV. I love how there is a cord to plug in the DVD player so if there’s something on TV I can watch my DVD, I love that. Bed is pretty comfortable, little hard, but I mostly sleep well. Love having a king bed. Every staff member at the front desk is super nice, especially Connie. One of the ladies has been help at night, forgot her name, works, Monday, Thursday, Friday till midnight and Tuesday overnight. I wish the check out could be an hour later though due to loving to sleep in on the weekends. If I ever have to work in Sandwich again, I will definitely consider this hotel. It is a little further from Sandwich, but I still prefer this place. I don’t mind the 15 minute drive. I love having rewards and getting a free night. Would ALWYAS consider...
Read moreI was very skeptical, but decided to stay here because Wyndham Hotels seem to share my values and some family things have come up so my budget is blown. I'm glad I stayed here. All of the staff were all amazing, helpful, cheerful, just all around great people. Everyone actually seemed to like their job, which is rare. It is an older hotel and you can tell (I worked in building management) but it has been newly redone and with a lot of care and thought.||||It didn't affect my enjoyment of my trip but I should mention my room had a very faint smell of cigarettes. Mostly it was just unexpected. I've stayed much more expensive hotels that were so bad I had to change rooms because my eyes and throat burned. I hate changing rooms so I gave it an hour and I didn't have a problem. I am very sensitive, I doubt most people would have noticed.||||I was always in a rush so I skipped breakfast, the waffles smelled like hotel waffles and the coffee was hotel coffee. I normally stay at another hotel in Yorkville, this may be my new home...
