Read moreA Fiesta for the Senses at Hacienda Real, Yorkville Hacienda Real in Yorkville is a vibrant and exciting addition to the local dining scene. From the moment you step inside, you're transported to a warm and inviting atmosphere, complete with colorful decor and the tantalizing aroma of authentic Mexican cuisine. This isn't your average Mexican restaurant. Hacienda Real elevates classic dishes with a modern twist, using fresh ingredients and bold flavors that will leave your taste buds singing. I started with the house salsa and chips, and I have to say, it was some of the best I've ever had. The salsa was clearly homemade, with a perfect balance of spice and tang. For my main course, I opted for the Enchiladas del Mar, and I was not disappointed. The seafood was cooked to perfection, and the sauce was rich and flavorful. My companion had the Tacos al Pastor, and they were equally impressed. The marinated pork was tender and juicy, and the toppings were fresh and vibrant. Beyond the delicious food, the service at Hacienda Real was exceptional. Our server was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were happy to offer recommendations and answer any questions we had. The drinks were also fantastic, with a wide variety of margaritas and other cocktails to choose from. Hacienda Real is the perfect place for a casual dinner with friends or a special occasion. The atmosphere is lively and fun, the food is outstanding, and the service is top-notch. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant for the first time on a Saturday afternoon around 1pm. Although we made a reservation online, it was not needed as the restaurant was pretty empty. We were seated promptly and the restaurant was surprisingly pleasant- much nicer than we thought. Our server was friendly but we would have appreciated a bit more guidance on any popular dishes or specials unique to the restaurant as it was our first time. The food itself was very good, featuring traditional flavors. A standout detail were the handmade corn tortillas and we appreciated the use of real queso fresco and crema instead of American alternatives. The only dish that didn't quite meet our expectations was the rice, which had an unusual after taste to it. On the positive side the restrooms were reasonably clean. One other downside of our lunch was the presence of flies and other small bugs near our window-side table. While we were seated indoors, it felt like we were outside due to the number of bugs. I would highly recommend the restaurant consider installing fly or mosquito traps, especially during the summer months. Lastly, during our visit a woman was taking photos of guests, including us. While we didn't mind, as she looked like a professional photographer, it would have been helpful if she had explained the purpose upfront. We weren't told the photos would be available for purchase until afyer she had peinted and framed them all. My husband bought one out of curtesy, but the lack of transparency was a bit off-putting. So overall, good but room for...
